This was our fifth visit to this beautiful country hotel. You cannot fault service and the food is fantastic. We had the gourmet meal on our first evening,I am still thinking about it and talking about it. Also we had the wine flight alongside, brilliant. Our second night we weren't expecting as good, but we were very pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed the very warm pool and jacuzzi, superb. Thank you Northcote. We stayed in the Northcote suite.highly recommended.

Many thanks to Richie, Mitchel and the team for another lovely short break. The food and service was fabulous and the spa relaxing. Hope to see you all with our daughter in the New Year. Great evenings spent chatting to other residents too. Happy Christmas!

There is a lot to like about this historic hotel. We especially liked all the staff who are lovely - welcoming, friendly and helpful - thank you Simon for the warm welcome. We had a Classic Room - Honeysuckle - which is one of their accessible rooms (we don't need one of those but were happy with it) which is a good-sized room for the category with a super-king comfortable bed, large bathroom and quiet location in the hotel. We appreciated the fruit, home-made shortbread and mints in the room. We had a full English breakfast on both days of our stay which was delicious - we also enjoyed the overnight oats, yogurt and fruit pots, which were served in individual kilner jars. We were staying at the hotel for a family wedding (not at the hotel) so we didn't eat in the restaurant or visit the spa. The hotel has several beautiful drawing rooms which offer comfortable spaces to relax by the fire and enjoy the scenery. It is a little old fashioned in places (sachets in the breakfast room and in the rooms with UHT milk pots) and the outside could do with some tidying (painting the downpipes, for example) but as a 3-rosette hotel we think it offers a lovely stay which is excellent value.

My Daughter and I visited for a much needed pamper day. We decided to add on a nights stay to have a whole pamper day. We started in the spa with a delicious cream tea ( mine gluten free and absolutely delicious!) We enjoyed using the spa which was quiet and really relaxing. We had lovely treatments in the spa which were so relaxing and we felt very pampered. After the spa we were taken to our room Which was beautiful, very tastefully decorated and we settled in. the shower was so powerful it was lovely! Our bed was very comfy and we had a great nights sleep. Our dinner was absolutely delicious and they had remembered I was gluten free and adjusted my food without me having to keep asking. The food was delicious and well seasoned and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We had a lovely evening. Breakfast was plentiful and there was so much choice. I’d like to thank the staff for their very warm welcome, and particular thanks to the ladies in the spa who made us feel so pampered and relaxed- you have no idea how much we needed that. If you’re looking for a nice indulgent stay with delicious food and welcoming staff look no further.

Just come back from a lovely 3 days at this hotel, set in the heart of the beautiful North Devon countryside. Service and food were excellent, and the adjacent spa was very good too, with a pleasant small warm swimming pool. Dinner is a bit of a special ritual with tasty canapes and drinks as you chose your dishes from the menu, and numerous courses. Hard to find any faults except our room had a rather springy soft bed when we prefer a firm mattress. Don't also be surprised if no one is around to welcome you on arrival as the staff seem to live in the kitchen. Head on into the hotel, bearing left, and at the bottom of the stairs you will find a desk with a bell on it. Top tip - make sure you use the special postcode given on the website in your satnav, instead of the hotel's own postcode, as otherwise you will arrive at the back entrance via some very narrow lanes.

We stayed at Northcote Manor for our wedding anniversary. We had an amazing meal, followed by a very relaxing stay and a lovely breakfast. We found the staff all incredibly friendly and welcoming, they were very attentive and nothing was too much. The Manor is in beautiful grounds and the attention to detail made our stay very memorable. Thank you

My wife and I went to Northcote Manor for afternoon tea at 3pm on 15th March 2025. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly and polite young man, unfortunately we did not get his name. He couldn’t do enough for us and made the whole experience very enjoyable. The tea was excellent. Highly recommend.
