Komecho Ryokan

This hotel is ******. They force me to take a photo and make a copy of my ID and then threaten me! Ironically, Japanese people don't need a copy of their ID, but foreigners do! I knew it was illegal, so I flatly refused! They're going to misuse my personal information!

Very authentic Japanese-style residence, close to Imabari Shopping Street, with good services

A long-established inn that feels like a secluded hot spring inn. It had a retro Showa feel to it, with the creaky hallways, wooden handrails on the stairs, and tiled washbasins, but it was a cheap room without meals, so it was totally OK. The bathroom is also shared, and each time one or two people enter, the door is locked. Although the building is old, the toilet was equipped with a washlet, and the hair dryer and pot in the room were new and clean. The walls are thin, but the guests around me seemed to be sensible people, so I was able to spend a quiet and comfortable night. A gift of your choice of Imabari hand towels is also a nice service. Since I had made an online reservation, I asked if they could issue me a receipt, and they kindly asked me to issue one. The location is close to Imabari Port, but it took about 10 minutes to walk through the shopping street from Imabari Station.

The chabu tea set had tea leaves in a tea caddy, not tea bags. It was delicious. I drank too much and had trouble falling asleep at night, so be careful not to drink too much. The price was also reasonable.

The hotel is located in a place where you can feel the morning and night atmosphere of the port. It's a 1-2 minute walk from Imabari Pier, and there's a parking lot right in front of the hotel for 500 yen for 24 hours. I stayed in a room with a toilet and shower, which was convenient. The hotel is old overall, but the toilets and other amenities have been renovated and are new. I slept very quietly, and it was a nice place to stay where I could relax.
