Booked the last available room which was a twin facing the street. There are 7 rooms, all accommodate dogs for £15 extra and 2 face the garden, the rest the street and have noise from the pub downstairs till closing time. The location is excellent on the high street with plenty of parking. Our bathroom was large with a circular shower and bath sheets not towels. Toiletries provided. Very hot water. Beds were comfy with crisp bedding. However this room had very little space between the bed and the wall requiring a sideways crab shuffle to get by. It was a long , narrow room. The windows had no proper fittings so were either wide open or sort of shut. The bathroom door would not fit in the frame to close. All the paintwork could do with a good clean/sand/paint, the doors in particular. New door frames and maintenance work required on the room entrance door as required special treatment to lock. The door at the top of the stairs needs a good CIF ! The room had all you could need facility wise, nice bedside lamp but the main light had only a dim candle bulb in it, needs replacing. A traditional pub with nice olde worlde features, steep stairs and multiple rooms on different levels as you find in these traditional places. A bar area with TV, restaurant, alcoves and breakfast room. There is live music on Fridays and a quiz on Mondays. Lovely beer garden at the rear with play equipment. Dogs allowed everywhere except restaurant room but must sit under the tables. The breakfast room is well presented and breakfast included. Plenty of choice and 3 sizes of English style breakfast available. Very generous portions. Delicious. The staff were lovely and the music in the breakfast room was welcome to make a more relaxing atmosphere for everyone. On the whole served it's purpose for a B&B but needs a lot of maintenance as was below standard for the price range. Expect it to be noisy through the floor as it is a pub not a hotel.

Exceeded expectations. First time trying a pub hotel and we were blown away. The room was huge (our photos don’t do it justice) amazing tea and coffee facilities within the room. Large bathroom and good location. Even had a large outdoor area which would be nice to enjoy a drink in the summer. Perfect spot after a day of walking the waterfalls. The staff are so friendly and make you feel very welcome. Breakfast was great you helped yourself to continental and then could order a breakfast of your choosing.

Excellent inn with an equally excellent pub attached! Stayed here as part of a road trip holiday with a friend and we both wished we could have stayed another night after an excellent meal with my favourite pint (theakstons best). Definitely one we will need to return to. Highly recommended. Breakfast included was an added bonus and it was a perfect way to start a day on the waterfall trail- kept us going! Many thanks to all for a pleasant experience.

Been coming here for years regularly. Sadly went on Sunday with friends after a walk to see the prices have increased quite a lot. Understand this is maybe a necessity. Ordered the roast £18.50. The beef was a cheap chewy slab out of a packet and there was no gravy (shuffled it around a bit to check?) . Asked if they forgot the gravy, the lady said ‘no, that’s £3.50 extra, order at the bar’ what?!! Pay extra for gravy? On a roast. I love lots of gravy! :( Sadly that finished us off. Won’t be visiting again, going to the masons instead. Shame.

Lovely 3 night stay here. Can’t fault it, staff were friendly, room was plenty big enough and spotlessly clean. The food was really good especially for the price point. Delicious and plenty of it. We ate here every night. Breakfast service was excellent and very swift. I would definitely recommend this place as a base for exploring the area. The waterfalls trail is a five minute walk away and well worth the visit. We also visited Ribblehead Viaduct and walked up Whernside , as well as Horton in Ribblesdale. Brilliant stay and we will definitely be back
