Clean and comfortable hostel with a great location walking distance from town center! Full of young, adventure seeking travelers. The amenities were great - awesome shower water pressure, free bus pass, and hot tub! Overall great experience and would definitely recommend!

This hostel absolutely exceeded all expectations. Balmers offers a wide range of amenities and experiences, including a bus pass, luggage storage room, club in the basement, a hot tub, a hammock room, and the very best water pressure I’ve experienced in a long, long time. Its location is optimal, being a short walk from the town center and modes of public transportation. I shared a private room with my friend, which was so perfect for us, and even included a sky light! Falling asleep under the alps was an experience I’ll never forget. Love this place and will be back!

Stayed here in 1992 and returned 31 years later to find the place is just as friendly warm and wonderful as ever! Now if you want luxury, fluffy towels and privacy then maybe book a hotel, but this place is really authentic as hostels go and you’d be hard pushed to meet a nicer group of travelers anywhere. It was Jungfrau Marathon weekend when we visited so everywhere was busy but that just made it more fun. Beds remain as basic as ever and bring your own pillow and towel if you like comfort. Has an fab laundry next door which helped with the washing mountain. Balmers is a great place to meet people and enjoy the wonderful area.

Double room was very comfortable and had excellent view of Jungfrau.
Good fridge / food storage system. But kitchen was bit crowded in evenings.
Easy to walk / bus to Interlaken West and Ost

Switzerland itself was absolutely amazing but Balmer's really brought the whole experience to life. I have never experienced such an awesome social atmosphere. I got to meet people from all different countries and walks of life which was inspiring. The staff was friendly and the hospitality was amazing. It truly felt like everyone there, staff or guests, was part of a family.

Could not be more pleased with this hostel! Tons of kitchen and fridge space which helped us save money on food, very friendly staff (Mateus specifically!), the bathrooms and showers stayed very clean. I went with friends but there were plenty of solo travelers that seemed to do great, especially thanks to the planned group activities. The rooms are a little hot during the peak summer so just be prepared for that, but I will definitely be coming back.

I had a great time at Balmers. When we got there the staff made sure to help us find our room and the place we were going to stay. They made sure we had everything we needed and welcomed us with open arms. It was a great place to stay and we enjoyed our time there.

I went to Balmer’s Hostel with a group of 15 of us on 31/7/23-1/8/23. We were welcomed in as soon as we got there and all of the staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. The amenities all around Balmer’s were very nice; especially the kitchen that anybody can go and make food. They have a bougie outdoor area that has a hot tub, giant chess, and plenty of seating. If I am in Interlaken again, then Balmer’s is a must.
