"Our little one wanted to see 'A Yuan's Home,' so we brought the picture book and came to stay. This guesthouse is located within the Tianluokeng Tulou Scenic Area in Nanjing. It's easy to find if you're driving, and personally, I found it even better than the Yunshuiyao Scenic Area – fewer crowds and stunning scenery. It's also very close to Taxia Village, which you can reach by cycling or walking. There, you can visit the 700-year-old Yuchang Lou, famously standing 'crooked but firm,' and grab a meal at the Xiaogqiao Liushui Restaurant. Just a heads-up if you're driving, be mindful of parking restrictions. Getting to Tianluokeng's iconic 'Four Dishes and One Soup' cluster is also super convenient, just a ten-minute drive. The Tulou are truly magnificent!
The guesthouse hostess is incredibly nice, and they have a lovely Golden Retriever named Xiao Chai, who is very friendly and well-behaved. We booked a duplex room with a living area downstairs and the sleeping area upstairs. It even came with a projector, which was a huge bonus! But the real highlight was the in-room washer-dryer combo – such a thoughtful and convenient amenity!"

"The B&B is right next to Heguilou, very close to the No. 6 bus station to and from Nanjing Shuiyunyao and the parking lot of the scenic spot. Boss Jian’s family is very accommodating and enthusiastic. They helped me with my luggage along the way, and reminded me in time of the camera at the counter. They even gave me the small scissors I wanted in the rain at night. The hotel is gone, but when I heard that my drone was blown up, I asked if I needed help to find it. This service awareness and attitude are awesome. The B&B is remodeled on the basis of a small earthen building, a bit like a small courtyard house. The interior decoration is very floral, elegant and casual, and a fruit tea tray and a box of exquisite tea are also provided, praise. I paid a 500 deposit for check-in, and the sky hot spring is charged separately. It seemed quite fun, but I didn't experience it because I checked in late. The buffet is also relatively rich. The only drawback was that the water stains on the shower head in the bathroom affected the appearance a bit, and the water in the shower at one o'clock at night was very hot. I adjusted it to cold water, but the cold water became smaller and smaller during the shower, and finally disappeared completely, so the water was too hot to continue washing. The room was very clean, the viewing platform was first-class, and it was a very distinctive homestay. The quietness at night made you feel very comfortable. Friends who like quietness and leisure should not miss Taxia Village. The temperature is suitable, cool, very original and not very commercialized. The Firefly we stayed at this time is a store run by the couple with great care. We also let the boss arrange the food at Firefly. We told the boss how many people can eat and what the budget is, so we can go out and play with peace of mind. The meal in the picture only costs 200 yuan, tastes great and is very filling! ! What I like most is that there is a large platform to dry clothes, and you can lie on a chair and watch the stars in the sky at night! You can also see a lot of fireflies in June and July! After living abroad for a long time, I came back to celebrate the New Year. I drove all the way from Shanghai with my family and pets. There are three places in China that I want to visit: Tibet, Jiuzhaigou, and Fujian Tulou; especially the animated film ”Big Fish and Begonia” a few years ago, which has a plot about Tulou. I found this accommodation temporarily on Ctrip. It was an authentic Tulou with a very affordable price. The service was especially touching. The boss lady was warm and down-to-earth. After I called the ticket office at the scenic spot to communicate, she was waiting by the roadside early. The paths in the scenic spot are narrow, the navigation is winding, there are many cars, and we often have to merge with other cars. We also encountered the car in front of us falling into a ditch (which was thrilling to watch). We saw a kind auntie wearing high-heeled leather shoes and a skirt helping to push... After we arrived at the B&B, the auntie followed us and said hello, and we learned that she was the boss here, and the person who fell into the ditch was not a guest here. She also mentioned details such as my family being unwell later. This auntie is really kind, and it’s not because she does this business, but because of the kindness of human nature. Before leaving, the family photo she helped to take made us exclaim ”WoW” again and again 👍It is very close to the core attractions such as Tulou (if you stay here, those popular check-in Tulou will be Fuyun), the big banyan tree, and the waterwheel, only a few minutes' walk; there are also many farm dishes nearby (some of them are overcharged and we have encountered them). It is recommended to buy a set meal on Dianping.com, at least the price is clearly marked. Although there are many people in Yunshui Yao Scenic Area, the experience is not bad. This accommodation experience is really pleasant! Of course, we have to be honest. Since the bathroom in the Tulou is a later renovation, please manage your expectations. I wish you all have fun and I hope the boss auntie will do better and better!

Excellent location to explore Yunshuiyao and visit both Hakka houses Huaiyuanlou and Heguilou along the river within walking distance. Excellent service - free afternoon tea and fruits in the evening. Restaurant also is very good. Reception helped us with the car for to visit Tianluokeng cluster.

GGuest UserWhat an amazing experience to live in the “chopsticks” buildings of the four dishes and one soup! This was a small and beautiful village and the family who ran the inn helped us carry our luggage up to the inn and later down to the inn. When we arrived they cooked a dinner which was reasonable in price based on a local menu. And then during dinner, they told us that one of the family members will be running a free tour of the Tulous of four dishes one soup for us in which they explained the history of the building of the tulous, especially the oval shaped tulou. Our guide was very funny with his stories (he spoke in Chinese) and it was a lovely time seeing the artists and candy makers in the Tulous. I would highly recommend this place. We did have to bring our own towels (or at least we brought our own and they didn’t supply one), so maybe best to check.

The decoration is in a nostalgic campus style, but the hardware facilities are not outdated. You can see the subtle care that the owner put into the room design. There will be several modes of room lighting to suit various needs. The wet and dry partitions in the bathroom are relatively reasonable, and the sewers are smooth and do not accumulate water. The water heater has a large capacity, so you can take a comfortable bath without any problem. It has its own parking lot and is very convenient for self-driving. The location of the B&B is very close to the viewing platform of Four Dishes and One Soup, which has the advantage of seeing the lights and entering the village at night. The landlady usually drinks tea in the front hall. When you pass by and she is free, she will invite you to drink tea and chat with her. WWeThe host Ah Wei is a gem . He always greet you with a smile and accommodate our meal request . He will suggest certain local harvested vegetables which were so delicious , cooked by him. Knowing what we wish to eat for dinner, he ensured that the ingredients were prepared ahead as they needed a certain amount of time to season them.
He gave us good explanation of the various items we saw in the hall as we were both quite curious what they were. There was never an attempt to sell it.
He also gave us a good history lesson on the origin of their village, and the various tulos.
Finally, we requested his help for a transfer and because of his connections, it was well arranged. Thank you Ah Wei for welcoming us to your home and the 6 meals in your place were very very good.

Great place, better stay at least a couple of nights to fully enjoy the tulou life.
Mr Huang and wife were amazing, some of the most hospitable people I’ve ever met. They cooked food for us and gave the best advices about exploring the surroundings.
If you have time, at sunset, walk up to the bus stop and find the little gap in the guardrail, it will bring you straight to the rice terraces. Can see the Tulou Complex from a different point of view!
