Built in 1890 and resurrected in 2021, you’ll have plenty to enjoy at this historic gem. We took great pride to carefully preserve this amazing historical church and bring it back to life as a unique rental with a fun and modern touch.The spaceThis amazing historic space has so much to offer. With over 3,000 square feet to enjoy, you will have lots of room to spread out and enjoy the pool table, foosball table and other unique and fun offerings.The church was built in 1890 and operated as the St. John’s Episcopal Church until it’s closing in 2009. It was carefully renovated in 2021 with the idea of preserving the beauty and integrity of the architectural style. We added our own special touch to create a unique space that offers all the basic amenities as well as some fun furnishings to create your own special memories.We saved everything that we could from the original interior of the Church. Many of the fixtures are original to the church and were restored or repurposed to fit our vision. The red carpet in the linen room is the original carpet that graced church sanctuary. The cedar wood in the upstairs bathroom is also original to the church as are some of the pews. The church chancel rails were repurposed as blanket ladders. We also reutilized much of the other wood and decor throughout the church.The downstairs bathroom barn wood was salvaged from a mill in Wisconsin Dells that was built in 1881. The shutters in the laundry room are from a historic house in Juneau County and the confessional, which is over 100 years old, is from a Catholic Church in the Chicago area. Renovated in 2024, we are pleased to offer for rent this off water 2 bedroom cottage that is both comfortable and conveniently located. It is on a half acre lot with mature landscape that creates privacy from neighboring properties. Walk just two houses to a Castle Rock Lake swimming beach. It’s a great spot for swimming, (dogs too) picnics or to launch canoes & kayaks. A larger sandy beach with picnic table, boat launch with ample parking is less than 2 minutes by car .This very well maintained home is on a quiet street, has an eat in kitchen with full sized appliances and fully equipped with with silverware, utensils, pots, pans, bakeware (metal and glass) spices and crockpot, a stand mixer, a drip coffee maker, creamer, sugars, a toaster and blender. There is also a Berkey to filter water. The kitchen is open to the living room. Our large screened porch off the living room has a wrought iron table and 4 chairs, gas grill, ceiling fan, settee, side chair and firewood rack.There are two Queen bedrooms plus a full size futon in the living room. All linens are provided including towels. The cottage has a full bath with full sized washer, dryer and pullout drying rack. The shower has a built in seat and hand held shower head. Wireless internet is suitable for streaming movies on a 43” Roku TV. free Roku channels included. There is also a 32” Roku TV in the rear bedroom with white cabinet. While this property is newer to the vacation rental market, we are not new to vacation rentals in the Castle Rock Lake area. We previously operated a popular vacation cabin (UnDells Cabin) that had many repeat guests in Necedah WI from 2005 through 2023 and as Premier Hosts we maintained a 4.7 rating on Vrbo. Our cottage is available for the first time in Summer 2024. It’s very conveniently located with all the basics like a convenience store, indoor/outdoor dining restaurant, boat launch, state park and beaches close by (2-5 mins) in a quiet and relaxing setting.The outdoor fire pit has a swing away grill and is surrounded by chairs. Some firewood is provided. Plenty of parking in our driveway for a boat trailer and a couple vehicles. There is a security camera pointed at the driveway on the garage at the above and left of the garage door. Swimming beach areas are a short walk past 2 houses and across the road. A larger beach with picnic tables, bathroom and boat launch is just over a minute away by car. Buckhorn State Park, Buckhorn Grill and Bar and Buckhorn Store are a quick five minute drive. Buckhorn store offers basic groceries, carryout pizza, liquor, ice and fishing tackle, night crawlers and gas. Buckhorn Grill and Bar is a popular family friendly indoor/outdoor restaurant with good food and service. There is also an auto repair shop next to the Buckhorn Store. A New Lisbon Dollar General is just over 5 mins by car on Rt 58 as is as the family owned Germantown Store (at County G and Rt 58 near the BP) which soon will have a drive through for foods like Italian Beefs, Chicago style hot dogs and much more. A full service grocery/liquor store (Festival) Dollar Tree and restaurants as well as Kwik Trips are in Mauston and Necedah. Wisconsin Dells with fun attractions and shopping are about 35 minutes south of New Lisbon off of I-90. New Lisbon has two boat dealers (V2 and Castle Rock Marine) both offering full service and Adrenaline Motor Sports offers ATV and UTV tours of the local area. On chilly evenings, gather around the stone fireplace on the main level - turned on with just the flip of a switch. And, if you really need to work, there is a workstation available with a monitor!
