The finca looks out onto a very large, secluded, walled courtyard boasting breathtaking panoramic views across The Almijara Sierra National Park. A natural canopy of shade is provided by a beautiful old carob tree believed to be as old as the finca itself. It is a magnificent white mountain village (pueblo blanco) known as 'The Pearl of the Axarquia'. It clings to the mountain side just as the other smaller villages nearby. It is a 'real' Spanish village and has all your holiday requirements: including a good selection of shops (fresh fish every day), bars, restaurants, a health centre, and dentist. We recommend having a cafe con leche in the square and 'people watching'! Many people visit the Axarquia to walk, and we can highly recommend this as walkers ourselves. From all day treks high up in the mountains, to short rambles suitable for all ages and abilities - there is something for everyone when it comes to walking in the area. In the finca you will find plenty of walking books and printouts that you are welcome to use. SUMMARY: A holiday at the finca is suitable for you if you like getting away from it all but still having options for the beach or cultural days out.
