"Strategic location if you want to visit the D-Day beaches! Impeccable hotel with helpful and pleasant staff. We booked a room. Pleasant surprise, we got an apartment! One room serving as a kitchen and living room plus a bedroom and a large bathroom. We booked for one night and extended our stay for a second night. Very good and generous breakfast served downstairs from our building. Parking is expensive for one night (9€) but you can park for free at the port, which we did. A small gate leads you to the residence (barely a 2-minute walk) and also allows you to get to the city. I highly recommend this hotel!"

"Great hotel, we didnt use the spa facilities but they looked amazing. Great breakfast, nice to see a vegan milk option not many places provide this. It was 18/9 and air con had been switched off as I assume they thought the heat of the summer was over, the room was really hot, they did provide us with a fan which helped a bit. We were ground floor so not keen on having a wide open window"

GGuest UserNot sure if this happens on room 111 only or not. There is no shower curtain at the bathtub. Please add it back immediately! The bathroom always get wet and flood the whole bathroom after shower. Also please fix the door latch. It is difficult to close the door completely and we needed force to shut the door so the latch can be tug into the slot.

SShawnWe booked this hotel because it was in a château and it looked romantic and unique .However there were many details lacking overall. Firstly avoid the restaurant at all costs even though the three course meal was only €29. The food preparation and quality was terrible. Please see attached photos. The salmon I had was overcooked from frozen salmon and the greens were likely frozen greens that were boiled to mush and no longer green. The risotto was just rice coated in some weird cream and had some tasteless pieces of chicken slapped on top. We did not finish the food.
They clearly also need more staff as our receptionist was doubling up as a waitress, and we noticed that there were some waits and gaps in service.
The room was compact and clean, but the details were lacking. For example, the fixtures and appliances were the cheapest variety possible and didn’t match the Luxe feel that the hotel is going for. The location is slightly out of town and a 20 minute walk to all the main sites in the old town.
The grounds were tidy and very pretty in photos.

GGuest UserMy friend and I are traveling around France for a couple of weeks. We picked this hotel based on reviews and price. It was a good location to drive to Omaha Beach and the surrounding area. We each had a room with a king size bed, a very large bathroom with a wonderful shower and separate large tub. Free Coffee, tea and water provided in the room and a small refrigerator with snacks and drinks available at a modest price. Beds were very comfortable and room temp was great. Very quiet location and free parking. The best thing was Julia, the front desk staff person. Extraordinary service and assistance with everything we needed including ordering Thai food from a local restaurant because the restaurant was closed on Sunday night and Monday night, the two nights we were there. She deserves a GIANT Thank You and a Gold Star! I would definitely stay there again if I ever return to France.

Nice welcome at reception when we checked in earlier than planned. We got touristic advice to go around and they kept our big suitcases. We unfortunately didn’t get parking as they were full.. all reserved (NB: trip.com never discussed that we had to book the parking, this is something Accor and Trip.com should discuss about as this is now our 2nd encounter of this problem…. Coming from Malaysia and renting a car, this is not helping… we had no idea we had to reserve parking)
The bedroom was very nice, pretty balcony but small bathroom… especially given the placement of the toilet…. lol. But never mind. Nice deck of the bedroom and the hotel too… themed on Christian Dior and fashion, we liked that ☺️
Last the breakfast and its location: beautiful. The view of the sea is really good, the furniture is nicely chosen, and the food is good. First time I see a « make your sunny side up eggs yourself » set in a hotel, which was cool.

JJames DobleJust spent a night at the ibis Alençon right in the town centre on Place Auguste Poulet-Malassis. Perfect location — you can walk everywhere: the beautiful basilica is 4 minutes away, shops, restaurants and the Halle au Blé market square are on your doorstep, and the train station is only a 10-minute stroll.
The room was typical ibis: compact but well-designed, with a really comfortable bed that gave me an excellent night’s sleep. Laminate flooring felt cleaner than old carpet, the bathroom was functional with good hot water and powerful shower. Free Wi-Fi was fast and reliable.
Staff were genuinely friendly and helpful — the night receptionist even went out of her way when we had a minor issue. Breakfast is a highlight: fresh scrambled eggs and sausages cooked to order, decent selection of pastries, fruit and cheese. Good value for the price.

However, the hotel is very clean, the reception staff is friendly and the parking lot is large.
It should be noted that although the breakfast selection is rich, I think the quality is average and there is no taste. I think I have had a better breakfast at other ibis hotels.

GGuest UserThis was our first stay with B&B Hotels, and the first of 5 bidet hotel stays during a two week road trip around France.
The B&B hotel in Alençon stood out for several reasons. The availability of EV charging stations was a real bonus and made our journey much easier. The staff on site were exceptionally helpful and welcoming, quite a contrast to our experience of many of the other budget hotels.
Staff suggested we ate in neighbouring restaurant where we got a 20% discount. Even though it had gone 9pm. Restaurant were happy to accept us and our discount was applied.
Breakfast was another highlight: hot, well-prepared, and consistently replenished, which made for a great start to each day. Our room was also noticeably more spacious than the one we had in Toulouse, and the shower was excellent, with plenty of space, strong water pressure, and reliably hot water.
What really made this stay memorable, however, was the staff. Across all five B&B Hotels we stayed in the week, the team here in Alençon were by far the most engaged, attentive, and customer-focused.
