If you've got kids then they're going to love boogie boarding down the awesome sand dunes on the edge of Lake Wainamu, there is plenty of safe swimming there too. For the more adventurous take a walk around the lake then cool off in the waterfalls.There's also rock fishing and the well known O' Neils surf beach within walking distance and a 10 minute drive will take you to the Waitakere golf club with its amazing bush backdrop.Through the winter, take one of the many local walks and return home to hot chocolate and a warm fire.
