Spirit Lodge is located 10 minutes from downtown Madeline Island, and is just over a minute drive from the beautiful Big Bay Town Park. We have one full bedroom with a queen bed and tv, one bathroom, and a loft with a queen bed. Our main level has a kitchen, eating area, couch, dining table, and a wood stove fireplace. The basement is just partially finished, but available for you to use. While you are here at Spirit Lodge, we hope you are able to spend plenty of time enjoying our large from porch that over looks the front yard. The front yard is yours to enjoy, it is the perfect place to gather and enjoy a fire. Our year round home is located about 100 feet from Spirit Lodge. We love our log cabin and are very happy to have others enjoy the space! The all-wood interior on the main and upper floors, most of which is milled from old growth Douglas Fir timbers, lend warmth and character to the home. The wrap-around screen porch provides protected outdoor space for dining, reading, playing cards or taking an afternoon nap. The fieldstone rumsford fireplace will take the evening chill out of the air and the 12' dining table will seat a crowd for special meals prepared in the gourmet kitchen.The lower level 'rainy day' room features table tennis, a kids rock-climbing wall, a large flat screen TV monitor with AppleTV. An electric keyboard and an acoustic guitar is there waiting to be strummed. Plenty of books, games and puzzles line the shelves throughout the home. We are 7 miles from the town of LaPointe where you'll find restaurants, bars, ice cream and souvenir shopping. There are tennis courts available as well as a Robert Trent Jones-designed golf course. Your rental unit is located on the second floor and has a deck to enjoy morning coffee a cocktail or just to soak in the scenery. There is additional common space that can be enjoyed as well. This includes a massive deck with plenty of seating and tables to enjoy additional views or company if you so chose. We have created a bbq and beer garden as well. Use one of the grills and courtyard area for wonderful meal outside. The hotel room has a queen bed and a private bathroom. Please note that the max guests allowed is 2. If you exceed the max amount we may ask you to leave the property and no refund will be provided. Note that the hotel unit has a microwave but no dishes or cookware with it. We also provide a standard drip coffee maker, but if you prefer there is a coffee shop, and stores within a short walk of your unit. We provide coffee pot filters and coffee cups. Please bring your own ground coffee and any other fixings you like. The Bell Street Lodging was constructed with concrete forms. The concrete forms offer a quiet sanctuary within your space. Or step outside and walk a 100 yards to Tom's Burned Down Cafe. Tom's is an island music oasis. Not to mention spectacular for people watching. Enjoy a short walk to the Beach Club for a sunset view and refreshment. Your family could enjoy Grampa Tony's also within 100 yards of your stay. If you enjoy the convenience of staying close to the action this is the accommodation for you. One flight of stairs, unpack and park your car for the rest of your stay if you chose. The Bell Street is no longer being advertised and operated as a bar/restaurant/event center. There may be a rare occasion that an event happens (more to help the community).
