Horace was a “small house designer” who was part of the faculty at Black Mountain College in the early 1940s where he taught design and construction. After his career at the college, Mac designed homes throughout Black Mountain over the course of the next two decades. This home was built in 1947 and recently renovated with careful intention to keep the spirit of the home’s design intact.Though quirky in style, the home is highly functional for all aspects of living, including a kitchen/dining area; a living room overlooking the backyard; a master bedroom with an adjoining half-bathroom; and an additional room which can be utilized as a workspace, studio, or additional bedroom. The house has a new front and back porch, which are ideal spaces to enjoy the serene environment the home is enveloped by.You will enjoy access to the entire home during your stay.
