Our cozy 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom home is nestled in the beautiful town of Grand Marais and offers everything needed to accommodate snowmobilers and off-road enthusiasts. Our home has a fully functional kitchen, with the exception of a dishwasher, and plenty of cooking & dining utensils. The living room offers 2 couches, a chair, and a flat-screen tv with Amazon Fire Stick. Located less than 1/4 mile from Trail 8 and the gas station, within walking distance to town, with bars, restaurants, and shopping, and to the beautiful beaches of Lake Superior. There are tons of places to visit nearby - waterfalls, beaches for rock hunting, trails for hiking, kayaking in the bay, fishing, and hunting. The property offers space for trailer parking, up to two large trailers. Situated on the east end of Pictured Rocks and the Grand Sable Dunes. A charcoal grill and firepit are available out back. There is always an exterior driveway camera in use for security reasons. Your vacation will start off right in this beautifully renovated 1870’s historic home. It has a light and airy spacious feel throughout. Accents of the area will spark a desire to get out and explore all that Grand Marais has to offer. This home has one of the largest yards and indoor living areas. You are a short 1/2 block from the center of downtown and a 1 block walk to the bay and 2 blocks to Lake Superior. This home was just turned into a rental August 2018 so we’re very happy with our great reviews so far. We do change the feel between summer and winter seasons. There is ample parking for your trailers too. Welcome to A Stone's Throw, perfectly located only 1 block away from Lake Superior's agate beach, the sandy shores of the bay and to downtown Grand Marais, Mi. Bring the bikes! Bike up Coast Guard Point, relax on the beach and still have time for day trips out of town. Walking distance to beach, bay and downtown bars. Well behaved dogs are welcome ;) Out the side door of the property is a large deck with a seating for all guests. When it gets close to sunset you can easily walk to the large public deck, to enjoy a beautiful, colorful show in the sky. As night descends some will enjoy hunting fluroscent sodalite-GLOWING- rocks on the beach with UV lights and if the conditions are right, they will also have the opportunity to see a glimpse of the Northern Lights. Four bedooms- all Queen beds, and the master suite as an additional full size futon couch, so easily sleeps 10 persons. Three full bathrooms makes it even better There is a fire pit and we offer free wood to burn. There is a propane grill with a back up tank, just in case. There is a good size lawn for games and a bean bag toss is available to use.Grand Marais, MI has several points of interest, including Sable Falls, Au Sable Lake, Pickle Barrel Museum, Post Office Museum, and the Light Keepers House Museum, in addition there is a self guided walking tour of the town. This location is also convenient for day trips into Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Tahquamenon Falls, Oswald Bear Ranch, Kitch-iti-kipi (Michigan's largest natural freshwater spring), Historic Fayette State Park, and the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, just to name a few. The house includes 2 common areas; one with relaxed seating and one that has a dining table that seats six. The adjacent kitchen has a breakfast bar with 4 high top chairs (close proximity to the dining room table), stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher. Smaller applicances and cooking supplies are provided such as coffee maker, (both Keurig and Mr. Coffee drip), toaster, electric hot water kettle, blender, air popcorn popper, crock pot/slow cooker, pots/pans, silverware, plates, and glassware.Yes there is wi-fi and a smart TV. You can sign in to your Amazon or Netflix, etc. In addition there is a DVD player with a selection of movies. A reasonable amount of paper products and cleaning supplies, including laundry detergent will be made available. Grand Marais does have a small local grocery store, but most guests find it more suitable to bring groceries, especially specific branded items that you will be wanting to enjoy during your stay. It is highly recommended to bring groceries with you on your trip to the U.P.This is a pet friendly property. Please note there is a pet fee of $100.00 therefore you must disclose you are bringing a pet. Pets are not allowed on the furniture and must be in a crate if ever left unattended. Bath towels are provided one per guest. if any extra towels or beach towels are needed please bring them. The closest house to the famous Agate Beach in Grand Marais, MI. This 1970s vibe, bi-level house is newly available to rent. Perfect spot for rock hounds that love spending the day looking for beautiful rocks in Lake Superior. Walk to the beach or to downtown- this location is amazing! Enjoy panoramic views of Lake Superior- really amazing to watch storms from the upstairs living room. This house has both a kitchen and a kitchenette, 2 living rooms, and 3 bedrooms. This house has stairs that are open on one side and railing on the other side. One of the bathrooms is tub only (no shower). There is a shower in downstairs full bathroom.Note: Washer/Dryer is not available. **. the washer/dryer does not work at this time** There is coin laundry available at the Woodland Campground in town. There are no pets allowed.
