Upstairs Master suite and loft for romance or quiet contemplation. Large stone fireplace and cathedral ceiling great room with mood lighting. Chef’s kitchen and 10 seat dining table. Two guest bedrooms and full bath on both main level and downstairs walk-out basement. 80 acre lot that is adjacent to thousands of acres of state land for snow mobiling, cross country skiing, hunting and hiking. Private retreat on year round maintained road. Hear the beat of bald eagle wings from large deck or view moose grazing peacefully. Fields of colorful wild flowers in summer. The house is not off the grid - there is electricity and a buried propane storage tank for energy. The wood burning fireplace with air circulation fan contributes to the ambiance and warmth of this chalet-style home. In the warm summer, windows and a breeze serve as air conditioning. Each bedroom has individual temperature control (heating) separate from the common areas.Guests arrive up the wooden stairs to a large covered porch. There is a large stack of firewood ready to go. The unique double oak doors help keep in heat when restocking the fire. Inside is a small tiled floor area in front of the coat closet for removing boots or shoes, but the rest of the main and upper floors are dark oak hardwood (except bathrooms, which are tiled, as is all of the lower level). The upstairs consists of a master suite and a sitting loft. The master suite has a queen bed, dresser, full length mirror and large his/her closet. Two nightstands each with individual reading lights on dimmer control. Also a hidden storage space. The master bath has a large shower and twin sinks. The master suite has vaulted ceiling with intricate wood rafters, beams, and a ceiling fan. The master bedroom windows face east, and the long twilight in the mornings and evenings, coupled with the silence that surrounds, give guests such peace and serenity that you never want to get up. But morning coffee sipped in the sitting loft with two large leather chairs is a great start to another day of decompression and rejuvenation. This loft has soft lighting on dimmers to give you just the right mood to relax. The main floor has two bedrooms and a 3/4 bath. Each bedroom has a queen bed, large closet, dresser, and night stands with lamps. The great room has comfortable leather chairs and a couch for gathering around the stone fireplace. There is a large deck accessed from the great room. The dining area has a large wood table and 10 chairs. Great room lighting controls allow guests to adjust to their mood and taste, from very bright to the softest almost dark setting. Lighting controls include the ability to illuminate the huge rafters and beams on dimmer, outside lights to see falling snow, and dimmer controlled wall fixtures. There is also a ceiling fan. The outdoor deck is a place all its own. Guests can stand out there or sit in one of the deck chairs and enjoy coffee in the morning or wine in the afternoon and hear the sound of silence and a soft breeze. The deck is a great place for yoga in the warmer months. Gaze across to three glaciers and mountains and a glimpse of the bay through the trees while you practice your asanas. There is a large (12") Dobsonian telescope that can be moved to the deck for stargazing in the darker months. The kitchen is a chef's dream. Six-burner Wolf gas range w/ griddle, and two ovens, one convection. The gas broiler makes steaks like the best steak houses. The kitchen is fully stocked with quality pans, pots, knives, cooking utensils etc. There is a large pot for steaming the Bering Sea King Crab that can be purchased at Coal Point Seafood in Homer - it might even come from the Time Bandit crab boat of the TV series "World's Deadliest Catch." There is also a HUGE wooden salad bowl for Cesar or other delectable creation. There is a coffee grinder, french press, drip machine, and espresso percolator to enjoy gourmet coffee as you desire. The kitchen layout provides plenty of work space for multiple "cooks" to convene and contribute - but PLEASE only cut/ chop with one of the cutting boards: the finished wood countertops are only beautiful if we can keep errant knives from damaging them! There is a disposal, dishwasher and wine cooler. Large Telescope for stargazing. The lower level has two bedrooms, two gathering areas equipped with a pool table, games, and smart TV. There is also a storage room (skis etc.), and a full bath with a large soaking tub. It is easy to grab the skis or snowshoes and walk out the lower level into nature's paradise. The utility room has a washer and dryer. The house is just off the road, but screened by alder bushes. There is a small community of Russian old believers a mile down the road called Razdolna, and there is an occasional car, ATV or snow mobile. But for the most part there is silence. The road provides year round access. It is a good quality dirt road. The house is 3.6 miles from the asphalt of East End road (mile marker 19).The lot is 80 acres. The house sits in the middle of the south 40 acres. A recreational access road divides the south 40 from the north 40 - there is a recreational parking area about a half mile to the northeast of the property where snowmobilers park. There is also a hiking trail (10km) to Caribou Lake. In the winter, just strap on X-C skis and go for miles into the wilderness, or bring your snow machine and go forever. Family retreat, executive retreat, romantic nest, woman-castle or man-cave: this house can serve as all the above. You will not experience anything like it - from the wood to the views to the sound of silence anywhere else.About pets:No pets allowed. No pets..About checkOut:Check out before 11:00 AM.About children:Children allowed: ages 0-17.And there is a set of bunkbeds..About customRules:Take trash to transfer station across from McNeil Canyon Elementary School.
