Trollstigen Resort

Good communication and smooth check-in in overall. There is convenient private parking right next to the cottage that you have booked, which is great. Surrounding mountains are totally mesmerizing and the whole area is very peaceful. Interior of the accommodation is simple, but you get all that you need, especially at the kitchenette. There could be a bit more space for cosmetics in the bathroom, though, as I was putting most of my cosmetics on the floor.

We had a 2 bedroom cottage. Really a nice one with 2 o rooms, full kitchen and living room with dining table/chairs. Everything needed for cooking. Linen ordered and delivered. Cleaning afterwards needs to pay extra which is fair enough. Really, Wifi fine and entire cabin very clean. So, why only 4 stars? The bathroom; tiny with nowhere to hand towels and place things. Pity that such a small thing shall reduce the rating for an otherwise great stay.

We rented out a cabin which was a standard cabin for 2 people. I was extremely pleased. The cabin was fresh and decorated in a way which made it feel more spacious. It was clean and well kept. The staff were friendly and the views were amazing. I would definitely go again.

Sweet little quite basic lodges which are surprisingly cosy although ceiling height in kitchen was very low if you are tall and although they leave logs and candles they don’t leave matches so it’s impossible to light them! Absolutely nothing nearby in terms of shops and restaurants so if you are without a car as we were make sure you take food. Taxi from Andalsnes is the only way to get there and cost £30!

The location was beautiful. The cabin we were assigned had a lovely view, though the layout of the cabin is such that the view can be enjoyed only from the picnic table outside. The location of the Resort is ideal for those who want to drive Trollstigen to the south, or those who arrive on it and want to stay in the area for a couple of days. I was unlucky as Trollstigen did not open, as expected, however I used it as a base to do the Atlantic Road drive. Disliked · The bedrooms are tiny and cramped. It was bad enough that I had to pay for the linen, worse that the only cash I required on the whole 12 day Norway trip, was the 100 NOK to pay for the linen, I had to withdraw from an ATM and as my currency is non convertible, paying a 4USD surcharge for this withdrawl. Many Norweginan Resorts require you to pay for the linen, there should be a way to pay for this along with the room rent. I disliked paying so much rent and having to clean the cabin myself and make the beds especially given the cramped bedroom. The Resort provides no information about the area and my messages to the Resort through the functionality provided by *********** were responded to laconically. Wifi was iffy.
