The first few nights at the hotel were fine. It's location is not great, you really need a rental car, everything is too far to walk. The rooms are small, the bathroom is very old fashioned japanese style and very cramped. Beds are comfortable.
HOWEVER! The last night of our stay, the fire alarm went off late in the evening. All hotel guests needed to evacuate. We were standing in the rain, waiting for any information. Which did not come! There was no explanation, after 15 minutes, a staff member came out, said sorry once and sent us back inside.
So everyone was already pissed and shook up from the experience. THEN all of sudden, at 6 am, there was music played over the intercom system, waking everybody up!!
This was the most terrible hotel experience, DO NOT STAY HERE!

You need a car to comfortably travel around the area. The staff weren’t very helpful, and the corridors didn’t have a pleasant smell.

There is a famous beach called Maezato nearby, so it is convenient for swimming and playing. There are two large supermarkets (San-A and Max Value) within a 12-13 minute walk, so it is convenient for shopping. There is a conveyor belt sushi restaurant and a ramen shop 100 meters from the hotel, and if you walk a little further, there are creative cuisine restaurants and rice restaurants, so it is not inconvenient for eating out. It offers all the usual hotel services, so it can be said to be one of the more comprehensive hotels of its class. There are few types of breakfast, but the taste is decent and it is enough to hold your appetite. The only complaint I have is the size of the room; even if three beds fit in, there is not enough space to open up a suitcase.

It's been 4 years since it was renovated, so the building and rooms are very clean and there are no negative impressions like the reviews say. The water faucet is old-fashioned and the room door is not auto-locked, but other than that, it was very reasonable and satisfying even for the New Year holidays. Don Quijote, San-A, and AEON are nearby, and you can rent a bicycle if you don't have a car. The breakfast (buffet) has a limited number of items. I was lucky to be able to see the InterContinental New Year fireworks from the hotel.

I've been to Ishigaki before, and on my second visit I was able to relax by visiting the same places as before.
The hotel has bicycles, and since the shops in Ishigaki are far apart and the hotel is a little far from the city center, it was nice to be able to rent them for free for two hours.
There are McDonalds, supermarkets, and bus stops nearby, and I was also happy that the ANA beach was nearby.
Being able to watch Netflix and YouTube in the room was great.

It was just too dirty.
It wasn't that the cleaning was thorough, but more like it hadn't even been done. It was disappointing.

We made a reservation for a family of four but our names weren't included, or it was booked for just three people, and we had to share towels etc between the three of us.
There was what looked like blood on the sheets from the start.
And it was really small.
I don't know if it's because it's Ishigakijima, or because it's cheap.
