I spent two nights here, splitting my stay between an ocean-view room and a standard room. Both rooms were incredibly cozy for sleeping, and the air conditioners worked like a charm—they kept the temperature perfectly comfortable, making the rooms nice and warm even when it was raining outside, which was such a big plus.
With police cars stationed downstairs on 24-hour duty, I felt totally safe throughout my stay. The only minor downside was a bit of nighttime noise from parties happening off the hotel premises, which I assume was down to the holiday period.

There are no slippers or tissues, so be sure to bring your own.
But there is a kettle for instant noodles.
The 22-square-meter room differs significantly from the pictures, which is a bit misleading.
The hotel is a converted bank, and some doors still retain the original vault doors, which is quite interesting. Unfortunately, the lobby ceiling isn't decorated with real totems, but rather stickers, which was a bit disappointing when I discovered it.
The location is great, though, with all the major attractions a 10-minute walk away. That's a plus.
The breakfast was decent; the scrambled eggs with tomatoes is very Chinese.
The air conditioning may not be cooling enough.
It felt stuffy at night, and I couldn't open the window. The noise outside on the first floor was too loud: cars, construction, and early morning church service. I later moved to a second-floor room, which was much quieter, perhaps because it wasn't facing the street or because it wasn't a weekend night.
The shower gel bottle in the bathroom was broken, and other small items were difficult to inspect; some were rickety and malfunctioning. I stayed in two rooms, and each had broken features. The service is somewhat uneven, so if you need a hotel with a uniform standard, it is safer to choose a global chain. If you don't mind that, the basic service can still be guaranteed.
