We spent a couple of nights here and this is what we found: - check in was quick - parking is free and in front of our accomodation - there is a camping, 3 star villas and a 4 star hotel in the resort. We booked a room in a villa, which was spacious, renovated, with a private bathroom, TV and fridge and a terrace, looking at the sea and the camping. - in the toilet there was soap and a hairdryer. - the swimming pool had different levels for kids and adults and also some small ones for babies. - breakfast was buffet looking at the sea: it had all the basic stuff like cereal, bread, charcuterie, bakery, coffee, fruit, eggs, vegetables and some Slovenian dishes. You don't need to hurry up like in other hotels because there will always be croissants ready for you. - it is a bit far from Izola but there is a little train, which is 6€ that comes to the hotel every hour. There are also buses to the beach. -

We were aware of the mixed reviews when we booked but weren't really prepared for the overall experience of the rooms. Like many who booked online, we weren't really sure what we were getting - or if we had a choice. Apparently, the Cliff Hotel has renovated rooms. However, we were in one of the "villas" which is a fancy term of what was really a very dated motor lodge. I can say that our check-in was easy and the front desk staff was very nice and helpful. However, we were disappointed to learn right away that so many of the services here are an up-charge. The gym costs extra, and not a small amount. The pool wasn't open yet which was strange considering the fact that it's so hot. There is a small indoor pool - but that is an up-charge too. We were told that the "sea is open" and we did swim every day. The WIFI was a disaster and barely worked. The signal was so weak that we ended up burning through a lot of our data. The room. Well, the first room had a non-functional air conditioner so the hotel changed our room. However, they don't answer the phone at the front desk so we had to walk there whenever we needed to talk to them. Both rooms had absolutely stunning views of the water. Perched high above the sea, the hotel commands trule stunning views, really. However, the room was a bit of a disaster. The beds were comfortable. I will say that. But, there weren't enough outlets so we ended up having electronics hanging from the bathroom light fixture. The bathroom was also so small that it was impossible to get to the toilet without brushing up against the wet shower curtain. The shower curtain didn't actually fit so our bathroom was perpetually wet everywhere. We were honestly quite disappointed by the room. However, the breakfast was amazing. The food was fresh and varied. The breakfast space was so beautiful with views that made up for the room in some ways. Overall, the staff was so nice to us and tried to do the best they could with the resources at hand. It is not their fault the rooms are so dated as to be barely functional. But, the free parking, great views and breakfast all left us with a smile.

Stayed in the main hotel, awful Service at the reception, cannot communicate through telephone or email. Absolutely inapropriate is that they dont answers the telephone for help from hotel room. It was hot in the room, they decline to repair. Poor oom comfort and food. Much too expensive for the price. Horrible unfirendly staff …

We visited restaurant Kamin today. Food was excellent, though service was poor. We waited about 1h for main course to arrive. Out of 5 only 4 arrived. We had to wait additional 10 min for 5th meal, which was for a child and our meal was getting cold. Waiter was no show the whole time, most of the time we were trying to find someone to order food.

Belvedere resort, that is what it said when we booked it, was not really what we expected. Don’t expect a resort. Please don’t. The hotel Well, that’s the thing. The reception is at the very nice looking Cliff hotel. Exactly. Belvedere resort has multiple accommodations. A 4-star hotel (Cliff hotel), a 3-star hotel (in separate buildings?) and a 2-star camping. Did not expect that at all. Sure, it is on the website, but really…who reads that. So the reception is at the Cliff hotel, but our accommodation is in one of the ‘villas’ (take the term ‘villa’ lightly, please). Check-in went smoothly and we got the key (which weighs a ton). Parking is possible but can be difficult if it is busy. Location Well, you would need a car to go places. It is a short drive from Izola, which is not a problem. You can walk down the hill to the beach (not a sand beach), although it is a long walk. You can take the car to the beach, paid parking. There is not a lot to do outside the resort unless you go to Izola (or a different city/village). The room The room was located in one of the villas. The last one, Loret. Little bit out of date/style, but who cares. The room was quite spacious and had a French balcony (we thought we had a normal balcony, well…surprise. There are rooms with a normal balcony, so pay attention if you make a reservation). We had sea view (yeah!). The room was okay. Beds were firm (I prefer that), extra pillow was available, there was a small desk and a comfy chair. Television. WiFi was acceptable (ask the password at the reception), stable enough. The airconditioning…it smelled, made noise, but it did not blow cold air. And be honest, the only thing an airconditioning needs to do is blow cold air. We mentioned it to the reception, and I suppose someone had a look at it, but it made no difference (in my humble opinion, the airconditioning is beyond repair). The airconditioning is ancient, not capable of its job anymore and needs to be replaced. Or something. Horrible. It was at least 28 degrees Celsius in our room. Or warmer. The room had a small fridge, which was nice (and cold-ish). Enough space for clothes and things. There were no real curtains (yep, the curtains were only for show. Do people really have show curtains?), but there are shutters. You can hear every door closing in the building, every step on the stairs. And there is a lot of noise. The room was clean, fresh towels daily (if you want), fresh bedding every fourth/fifth (or something) of your stay. The bathroom. The bathroom was everything that you do not expect at a hotel. And many reviews have mentioned this, so we should have been warned. Everything was old. Like really old. We had to shower in the bath, no glass or curtain (result: indoor swimming pool, and not the one you want to have). Everything was wet. You had to hold the shower head, there was no possibility of hanging it somewhere. Really? It is 2022 people, this is not okay! Showering in a bathtub is

Villa Palma 3* is really nice. Rooms are renovated and those that have a sea view are amazing. Restaurant Kamin has some tasty food to try and the breakfest was good too. The price is exceptable but a bit expensive in the summer time.

Frühstück in Ordnung. In Zukunft wieder ins Bernadin in Portoroz / Piran!!!
