Meijikan

The hotel is a bit old and has some history. The rooms are very large with stunning sea views. Breakfast selection is limited; I skipped breakfast on the second morning of my two-night stay. Dinner portions are also small, with fish as the main dish on both nights. The hotel does not provide a washing machine or disposable slippers.

Without ferries from Shimizu Port, transportation to this hotel is extremely inconvenient. Most guests are Japanese with children or elderly people. The hotel rooms are old. The front desk service is poor. The food is presented well but tastes average. Breakfast is a buffet, extremely crowded, and many items are not replenished when they run out. I don't recommend this hotel for Chinese tourists without a car. Check-in at 3 PM and check-out at 7 PM are strict conditions, and it's at least 8-20 kilometers from several attractions. I suggest staying at a hotel near Dojima, as Dojima is truly beautiful! As for the sea view, all hotels in Nishi-Izu have sea view rooms!

The view from the balcony was perfect for taking photos. The fish and various side dishes were delicious.

We stayed as a couple in their 50s and their son and his wife. Dinner was served in the dining area, and the hot dishes were kept warm. The portions were generous, the flavor was great, and the all-you-can-drink alcohol was a delight for heavy drinkers. The breakfast buffet was also satisfying, with the option to grill dried fish at the table. The location is right in front of the ocean, and the view from our room was great. There was also an open-air hot spring bath, so we were able to relax while looking out at the sea. Overall, we were satisfied for the price. If I had to mention one drawback, it would be that there was no air conditioning in the corridors we used to move around, which was quite hot in this heatwave. Even after washing off the sweat in the bath, we were drenched in sweat by the time we got back to our room. (The air conditioning in the rooms was comfortable.)
