Did you ever have a perfect weekend at a destination event? I just did! The Fairview Inn, Jackson, Mississippi. I hosted a 40 person bridal shower for my niece and a smaller family birthday party on consecutive days last weekend in a gorgeous refurbished 1908 Southern mansion amidst lovely grounds. Guests came from several states and were transported to an earlier time in the lovely setting while enjoying delicious food, great service, individually curated rooms, and their favorite cocktails. Innkeepers Tamar and Peter Sharp have created a very special Southern hospitality experience. We somehow managed to feel like honored guests and family at the same time. At the end of the weekend, no one wanted to leave. We all left trying to figure out a reason to return as soon as possible!

Stayed here for one night en route to Florida and it’s a real gem. Lovely rooms, very clean, comfy bed and the smoothest, softest bed linen I’ve ever experienced! As with majority of hotels there was a coffee machine but no kettle for making tea. As a seasoned traveller I always pack a kettle be sadly left it behind when I left 😔. Very quiet, lots of parking and a great choice of breakfast options. 100% recommend

Didn't have a great experience at the Fairview Inn. I received extensive text-based directions and a very impersonal key pickup, which was the extent of the "hospitality" provided and not at all what I expected, based on the website's promises of amenities and experience. Stayed in "Faulkner's Nook" which turned out to be a repurposed storage area around the back of the property. The members of the staff I interacted with (at breakfast and housekeeping) were fantastic and welcoming, but overall, the experience felt less like an inn and more like a houseshare/Airbnb experience.

Beautiful property and rooms. Wonderful amenities for guests. I highly recommend. The rooms were huge and quiet, the beds were very comfortable. The guest kitchen was very welcoming with lots of tea and coffee and treat options. The owners are very friendly as well as the staff.

I stayed 1 night on an self drive, solo, civil rights journey through the south. Because it was election night I wanted a smaller hotel with no conference halls. It’s a beautiful hotel, just outside downtown Jackson. I stayed in ‘The Nook’ wich was perfect for me as a solo guest. Very clean and nicely themed. I could park my car very close by. All who worked here where very friendly and even helped me with some questions about my car and fuelling it up. Breakfast was delicous!

The most comfortable room with lush bedding and tons of towels. The property is gorgeous and charming for an inner city Inn. The staff, especially in the Library were 100% there for the guests. We loved Jackson! We travelled to Jackson Mississippi on our Southern Literary Trail and Civil Rights Trail road trip. So many sites to see and good people in Jackson making things happen.

We were in town for a wedding party and stayed one night. Weather wasn’t the greatest so we weren’t outside much but lovely gardens and outdoor seating when it is better. This place is a hidden jewel. So not a typical chain hotel experience. Each of the rooms is unique. We were in the Spanish suite. It was very clean and bed was very comfortable. There is a guest” pantry” I think it is called with cookies, coffee cake , drinks etc. available for no extra charge for our area of rooms which is a sweet bonus. Additional items are available for a small charge . You take on the honor system and write down what you took and they add to your bill. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and ample portions . We would definitely stay here again. !

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Fairview Inn. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was wonderful each morning of our stay! The staff was always welcoming and gracious. The Inn was also very convenient to everything we did in Jackson.
