Khatu Haveli

This hotel is in a family home that goes back generations. It’s conveniently located within the old city and yet has a peaceful atmosphere thanks partly to the lovely gardens. The service was excellent and the breakfast was extensive and delicious. We also ate on the roof terrace one evening enjoying the buffet which was also delicious. The rooms are spacious with both ceiling fans and aircon for comfort. The hotel arranged a taxi to accompany us for a day’s sightseeing which was a great way to enjoy the city and inexpensive. One final thing to mention- this hotel was featured in the “Real Marigold Hotel” programme on the BBC

This haveli is a calm and quiet oasis that’s absolutely stunning. You’re a short walk away from the busy Chandpole Bazar but the haveli grounds themselves are somehow so peaceful and we slept well. Our room was clean, comfy and stylish. The shower pressure was honestly the best we found in our 15-day india trip. They also have an gorgeous rooftop terrace area with tables and chairs so you can relax there and enjoy the views of the city. Manish and the restaurant staff were very helpful and checked we always had everything we needed, including assisting us with luggage storage and drop off. Their restaurant is stunning, we had breakfast and dinner there. We also booked a driver through them for a day of sightseeing forts - our driver Veeru was fantastic!

Wonderful place to stay! The room was clean and so was the bathroom. Breakfast was homely and delicious, the staff were genuinely helpful and they also gave me a late checkout, which really I'm grateful for. Don't miss out on watching the sunset from the terrace with a nice cold one.

This is a wonderful oasis in the frantic Jaipur old city. It is peaceful, clean and quiet. I love staying here. Manish is a great manager and can arrange many things. It is very close to many attractions and the area nearby is quite interesting too. And the breakfast is delicious!

First impressions very poor. Nobody available to let us in or meet us, once we found someone he told us to fill in paper work and he would give our passports back in half an hour, all he had to do was photocopy them so I said we would wait. Felt very unwelcome, very poor customer services, almost rude. The building is lovely and well maintained, with a roof top terrace to enjoy, a rest after a day exploring. We took our own drinks as nothing was on offer, it would be nice to be able to order drinks. Unsure if our hot water was working properly as shower started warm but soon ran cold- not good as it is a cold time of year. Some staff we met were friendly, helpful and keen to talk, which we appreciated including Prakash and Virendar. One reason we had chosen the property was after its representation on the BBC programme so it was nice to hear about their experience. Disappointingly when we saw the owner (as seen on the tv show) she didn’t seem to acknowledge us at all, or the poor service we were receiving, which seemed a shame. Trying to arrange a tuk tuk was also awkward and felt like we were a hassle. We had laundry done here- tried to give it on arrival, told to wait until the next morning so we did, but items received damp. This property has so much potential, especially having been featured on the BBC, and some helpful, friendly reception staff could really make a huge difference.
