Review: 5-Star Hotel Stay – Mixed Experience. I recently stayed at this 5-star hotel Aug 2025, which, despite its grandeur, is showing its age at nearly a decade old. The property retains an elegant charm, but certain aspects left me with mixed feelings. Room and Cleanliness: The room was impressively spacious, a highlight of the stay, with a bit old decor and ample space to relax. However, the cleanliness was average at best. While the surfaces appeared tidy, there were noticeable signs of wear, and the pervasive smell of cigarette smoke was a major downside. I had specifically requested a non-smoking room through Trip.com and reiterated this during check-in, but was informed that no non-smoking rooms were available. As a gesture, the staff upgraded me to a higher-tier room, which I appreciated, but the cigarette odor was still strong, lingering in both the room and the hotel corridors. This was particularly disappointing for a 5-star property. Service Issue: To address the smoke smell, I called room service to request an air freshener. After waiting 30 minutes with no delivery, I had to call again. The second time, the staff promptly delivered it, which helped slightly, but the experience felt inconsistent with the hotel’s luxury branding. Amenities: On a positive note, the breakfast was exceptional—diverse, mix of local and International cuisine. The swimming pool was another highlight, well-maintained, and a relaxing spot to unwind with an indoor and outdoor scenic view. Overall: While the spacious rooms, fantastic breakfast, and nice pool were highlights, the cigarette smell and inconsistent service detracted from the experience. For a 5-star hotel, I expected better attention to cleanliness and guest requests. I’d recommend this hotel for its amenities but urge management to address the smoking issue and improve service responsiveness to truly meet 5-star standards. Rating: 3.5/5

Always stay at this very old hotel because still have smoking room, there are many new hotels in Jalarta but very difficult to find smoking room. Fitness Gym is excellent with many types of machines.

The place is pretty nice, rooms are clean and there some restaurants nearby. Somehow the food we put into the fridge got locked by someone when we were not at the hotel (way after the room was cleaned). So we’re not sure why would someone enter the room after it was fully cleaned. When we asked the stuff about that, no one solved the problem. The service person looked at the fridge, smiled and said “let me check something” and just left the room without even coming back. I am not sure if it is not allowed to use the fridge in the room, but why would you have it in the room at first place?

What we liked was the location and the food. We needed to visit the Indonesian Government office in Jakarta and this hotel was right there. The price of the rooms is good. The pool is nice and the outdoor pool area also is beautiful. What we didn't like was the road noise. Food at this hotel is good fresh quality but expensive.

Very clean and comfortable room. Eventhough the hotel is by the road, the noise wasnt loud. All the staffs there very helpful. the front office staff helped me to book grab there by pining the right location. The lobby is very aesthetic and photo worth. Very near to many attractions like Tanah Abang, Thamrin 👍The price is also very affordable for the location and room comfy wise. As for the breakfast, I hope there would be more options in the future. Thank you

The service staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. The breakfast was extensive and delicious. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean, and the surroundings were wonderfully quiet. Every detail was meticulously taken care of. I'll certainly be staying here again on my next trip. Highly, highly recommend!

This hotel has excellent customer service from the receptionist that I like to comment Chatarina who pays attention to the small detail as my colleague arriving very late at night, ensuring their check in is seamless one. I love the food variety for morning breakfast which is intercontinental style. The food is excellent. The Italian restaurant serves very on point for the pasta and the ambience is nice to relax. The cafe serves great Jakarta coffee. I will definitely comeback to stay in this hotel again

The hotel is pleasantly maintained. The air conditioning is odor-free, and the bathrooms are clean. There's also a BRT bus stop nearby, making it convenient for traveling.

I had a great stay! The location is excellent—right in the heart of everything, with plenty of restaurants and cafes just a short walk away. The hotel itself was very clean and well-maintained, which made the stay even more comfortable. Would definitely recommend!

The hotel is relatively simple but modern. The room was spacious, and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was typical, with a strong emphasis on local cuisine. Walking along the main streets outside the hotel is possible, though caution is advised due to heavy traffic and uneven surfaces. The staff are the hotel’s greatest asset—they were extremely friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. Overall, it offers excellent value for money, and I would definitely stay here again.
