Nanyuan Inn in the streets and alleys of Shaxi Ancient Town

While the water pressure could be improved for a more comfortable bathing experience, the exceptional hospitality and strategic location make this a worthwhile stay. Recommendation: Great choice for travelers who value personal service and convenient location, with minor bathroom facility considerations.

I was very happy staying at the hotel for three nights. When I arrived I asked to change the room to the Starry Sky Double Bedroom, and it was the best room I've had of the same price anywhere - panoramic view of the mountain ranges 24/7). The hotel is run by a lovely family who live in the same compound (three generations living together I think). The owner and his wife are ready to assist you when you need. The hotel itself is super clean, with super modern toilet, and is very quiet. Its location is just at the edge of the ancient town - very convenient to get out and to get in. If you can make it on Fridays, there is a great Friday market nearby ( in the ancient city). The hotel can also arrange a shared ride to Lijiang, Dali etc. for you, which saves you the hassle of having to go to Jianchuan, then traveling on to wherever. I would stay there again if I have a chance to come back.

Great location in the heart of Shashi. There is a magical balcony overlooking the street, we had a great stay there.
