If you’re looking for a truly clean 👍🏻, comfortable stay with peaceful nature views in Shaxi, this is your place. This family-run Bai guesthouse shows real care and investment in every detail, from spotless rooms to thoughtful touches that make you feel at home.
The beds and pillows are genuinely comfortable, and quiet nights guarantee real rest. Amenities here are better than anywhere else we stayed in Yunnan, and unlike listings that overpromise, this place truly delivers on cleanliness.
The free shuttle to Shaxi Old Town (5-7 min) is a big plus. We were upgraded to a better room, enjoyed simple Western touches at breakfast, and were invited to dinner with fresh homegrown produce 😍.

Si buscas en Shaxi un alojamiento realmente limpio, cómodo y con vistas tranquilas a la naturaleza, este es tu lugar. Esta casa de huéspedes, regentada por una encantadora familia Bai, refleja cuidado e inversión en cada detalle, desde la limpieza impecable hasta toques que te hacen sentir en casa.
Las camas y almohadas son muy cómodas, y el silencio de la noche asegura un descanso profundo. Aquí colocan más amenities que en cualquier otro alojamiento en el que estuvimos en Yunnan, y cumplen lo que prometen en cuanto a limpieza.

LLily771204This is my third visit to Shaxi. On my previous trips, I'd stayed in older wooden guesthouses where the soundproofing between floors wasn't great. This time, I deliberately chose this newly opened guesthouse, which has been beautifully renovated from a traditional wooden structure. True to its name, 'Mili' (meaning 'Grain of Rice'), it might be compact but it's perfectly appointed and utterly satisfying. The guesthouse facilities are excellent. The owners are a young local couple who are exceptionally warm and hospitable, making you feel right at home and completely avoiding the impersonal feel of a hotel. With only five rooms, it offers a wonderfully quiet stay. Plus, the Ersi (a local rice noodle dish) cooked by the breakfast auntie was absolutely delicious. All in all, it was a fantastic guesthouse experience.

The boss is very attentive. Every detail of the room gives people a sense of security and comfort. The scenery outside the floor-to-ceiling windows is picturesque. . The bed is moderately hard and soft, and very comfortable to sleep on. The bedding is very clean, the quilt is soft, and two beds are thoughtfully made. Towels, slippers, and tea sets are all sterilized in a special sterilizer, which is rarely seen in other hotels. For people who pay special attention to hygiene, it is impeccable. .
On the night of our check-in, the landlady prepared a delicious dinner with local specialties. The fried milk pancakes were delicious, and the braised spareribs were soft and tasty. . Having breakfast while listening to music gives you a day of energy and a sense of relaxation. The walnut European bread made by the boss lady is especially delicious. . After dinner, we lit the fireplace and sat around drinking tea, chatting and warming ourselves by the fire. The owner is a talented, tasteful and considerate young man. He designed the house himself. The wall design retains the original materials of the old house and adds modern elements. It is both practical and storytelling and has a sense of design. .
The boss's child is lively and cute, a clever little boy who adds unexpected joy to the trip. .
This is a beautiful place where you will never want to leave once you move in. . .

GGuest UserThe property is very close to one of the entrances into the old town, so it was very easy to alight the car and just walk over, as cars are not allowed in the old town.
First impression of the property was great, as there was a very well maintained garden filled with flowering plants, right when you entered the doors.
Eric and Joyce, the friendly and warm owners of this lovely place, were there to greet us too! Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, it was a breeze chatting and learning more about Shaxi from the two of them! This is especially convenient for tourists who are from SG, MY, who may prefer to communicate in English or Cantonese!
Rooms were very clean and heaters were available. There is no air conditioning, but frankly, you will not require that at all!
The main street of the old town is just a casual walk away, perhaps just 5 mins from the property. But along the way, you would certainly stop by many spots to have pictures taken as the entire place is so scenic! The houses, the vibes, the courtyards etc, everywhere you turn and look, it's just beautiful.
There is no lack of places to dine at, once you are at the old town, so despite the fact that the property does not include food, you will never go hungry.
All in all, it was a great experience and we would highly recommend anyone who visits Shaxi to stay over at this awesome property!

GGuest UserThough not spacious, the room's true appeal lies in its exquisite cleanliness and rustic elegance. Its charm is such that every passerby would be curious to explore. We were particularly impressed that this guesthouse, opened in 2017, is still so impeccably maintained. Rooms were in high demand, so we only managed to secure a booking for one night. From the rooms to the courtyard and the second-floor balcony, thoughtful design is evident everywhere. The breakfast Er'si noodles were absolutely delicious, easily as good as (if not better than) those from a restaurant. Enjoying the complimentary ripe Pu-erh tea with my daughter on the balcony was incredibly pleasant and relaxing. Shaxi Ancient Town itself captivated me; I absolutely adored its rustic and authentic charm.

GGuest UserThe B&B is about 2 minutes away from the pedestrian street. It is easily accessible by car. It is convenient to unload luggage and there is no need to drag luggage along the stone road. It is very convenient. When traveling, I always hope that my accommodation will be clean, quiet and brightly lit. Lanyue B&B exceeded my expectations on these three points.
The rice noodles for breakfast at the B&B are particularly delicious, and hot fresh milk is provided in the evening. The room is spacious and the bed is very good to sleep on. There are almost no faults.
Shaxi is different from other ancient towns that have become commercialized and stereotyped. The scenery here is beautiful, and the shops have a literary style and are full of human touch. You will meet kind and cheerful people who are willing to help, such as the owner of Lan Yue B&B, the little yellow car (No. 50), The owner of Xi Farmhouse Farmhouse Cuisine and Riverside Fish Restaurant, stayed here for two days, and still lingered over it. It is worth coming back.

DDuolaxuanI accidentally stayed in the same room as Xu Hongdou B&B. After the girl at the front desk told me about it, I found the clip and watched it again. There are many activities, and everyone can choose. The activities of pine needle dragon and armored horse are very good, especially the armored horse, which is completely different from the ones seen in the ancient town. Although I don’t understand it very well, I feel that this is the real thing. I printed two satisfied pictures and took them home. The girl at the front desk said that the hotel is a rural revitalization project. The next day, I went to the nearby Shilong Village to take a look. It is a large village with more than 200 households. I feel like I should be the one to be revitalized, haha. In addition to Shaxi Ancient Town nearby, it is recommended to go to Shibaoshan when you have time. It is very good. I will come again in the future. Next time I will bring my parents here. They will definitely like this kind of tune~

GGuest UserFuxi Shanhai is such a wonderful stay!! We had a beautiful room and they upgraded us to a bigger room because of availability. The location is great, just a few minutes walking distance from Shaxi old town roads, but also very quiet. The best part of our stay was the host, who was a very friendly and hospitable man (who was previously a martial arts practitioner in Beijing). He treated us like family, and went above and beyond to also help us coordinate transportation to our next destination and get in contact with the hotel manager of our next destination to come pick us up and show us how to get there. In the rabbit warren cobblestone roads of Old Dali, it would have been impossible to find without his help and coordination. I highly recommend staying here when you come to Shaxi.

ZZaidalideyinianLocation: Very close to the entrance to the ancient town, with convenient parking. The alley is quiet and within easy walking distance of the nearby snack street. I love Shaxi Ancient Town's leisurely pace and have enjoyed it several times. Staying here was a real win.
Environment: While the courtyard isn't large, it's well-maintained. There's a small garden on the first floor and a pavilion on the second. Sitting on the small terrace on the second floor, gazing at the mountains and listening to the breeze is an ideal getaway. This is the rhythm of life in Shaxi.
Room Facilities: The overall atmosphere is very comfortable. The house seems to have been renovated from an old local house. The room features solid wood tables and chairs, modern furniture, and comfortable bedding. They provide drip coffee, and the minibar is well-stocked. The breakfast is also quite varied.
Service: The hotel staff communicated promptly with relevant information. The owner said he had been visiting Yunnan for several years and finally settled in Shaxi. It is truly a perfect place for a relaxing vacation.
