No. 8 Courtyard Homestay (Daming Lake Baotu Spring)

This guesthouse in Jinan's Old City is a hidden gem! We chose the courtyard king room, and the private courtyard was such a pleasant surprise – with its blue bricks, black tiles, and lush greenery, it was incredibly peaceful and therapeutic, a true oasis of calm amidst the hustle and bustle. The room itself had an elegant New Chinese aesthetic, the bedding was soft, and the smart controls were super convenient. The en-suite bathroom was clean and tidy. It's just a few minutes' walk to Baotu Spring and Daming Lake, making it incredibly convenient for sightseeing and dining. The front desk staff were very welcoming and even offered free Hanfu rentals for photoshoots. Enjoying tea in the courtyard and stargazing made me never want to leave. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Jinan!

If you're coming to Jinan, you *must* stay at Courtyard No. 8! The front desk upgraded us to a Deluxe King Room, and the vibe was just incredible. The new Chinese-style decor is super photogenic. It's a short walk to Baotu Spring and Daming Lake, so exploring and dining out was a breeze. The butler service was attentive, and we even got to wear Hanfu for free – the photos turned out amazing! This is definitely the best way to experience Jinan. Go for it, you won't regret it!

The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the tourist area, which is super convenient. It's very clean and tidy, and the service is excellent. The lady at the front desk was particularly lovely and very patient.

Staying here was truly beyond my expectations; this little courtyard immediately fulfilled all my desires for a slow-paced life—it's incredibly comfortable! The guesthouse isn't on the main road but nestled within a park. The moment you step through the gate, you feel completely cut off from the hustle and bustle outside. The courtyard is immaculately kept, with a few green plants, and when the sun shines through, the dappled light creates such a lively atmosphere. Sitting on a small stool in the courtyard during the day, feeling the breeze, and just zoning out, even the air feels peaceful. It's hard to imagine that outside is a bustling urban area.

The room decor is nice, but the hotel entrance is really discreet and hard to find. The location pin is inaccurate, even delivery drivers had trouble finding it. The suite isn't suitable for families with young children; the stairs are very steep and narrow, barely wide enough for one foot. The cleanliness was poor. Every night after 9 PM, the water either completely cut out or came out in a trickle, making it impossible to wash up. There are no ventilating windows on the second floor, so it would be very stuffy in the summer. All the lights are on a single switch – it's either all on or all off, which is really inconvenient. You can't control the bathroom light separately either. The mattress makes a loud creaking sound with every movement. However, the owner gave my child a small toy at checkout.

Facilities: The bathtub and separate wet/dry shower area are great, and the room is quite spacious. Cleanliness: Spotless. Environment: The Chinese-style decor is lovely, and the location is excellent, making it super convenient to get around. Service: Five-star service! The staff are warm, efficient, and very professional, even better than many five-star hotels. I highly recommend staying at this guesthouse!
