I shall savor an alluring summer and have experienced the height of indulgence with Umaid Bhawan Palace which is the JEWEL of Jodhpur. Cozily lit , full bellies , breath taking lawns, spectacular view from the Lanchester Suite, mesmerising sunsets, the iconic makrana marble staircase , the majestic edifice of the palace made out of Chittar stone , vintage portraits , Lord Krishna ‘s idol , the captivating dome , incredible architecture remarkable services , the grand royal welcome made it a mind blowing stay ! I immersed myself in a calm, slow-paced environment without the constraint of time, spending hours in a state of reverie, letting my mind wander, listening to the melancholic sound of the peacocks and watching the elegant pigeons allowing myself moments of pure contemplation.It meant a platform for mental and physical regeneration, a beautiful catharsis for me . Mr. Manu Sharma, the General Manager of Umaid Bhawan Palace and the Cluster General Manager IHCL , Rajasthan is known for his exquisite aesthetics , and predilection for panache. He’s a gem and a pure soul. He’s a lot like a sergeant in the army. Having him in the team can make a difference between success and disaster . The palace needs him, his guests need him . Palace properties are in safe hands with him. He’s a pillar of Taj and running. I wish to extend my sincerest commendation to Mr. Gaurav Samtani , Director of Rooms for his truly exceptional assistance during my recent stay. He is a very good human being . His thoughtful allocation of the Lanchester Suite overlooking the lawns and the baradari , provided an unparalleled experience. In 2016 , I had the privilege to stay in the Maharani Badan Kanwar Suite and it would remain my life’s most cherished memories with Taj . On my next visit I hope to experience something regal in regard to the room , may be the Mehfil Suite or something which would make me walk down the ra of the Marwar dynasty . Executive Chef Elango Shanmugam , Sous Chef Vikram Bist, Sous Chef Kush, Pastry Chef Gaurav , Chef Chander , Chef Pushpendra, Chef Mohan, Chef Pankaj consistently deliver an unparalleled culinary experience that profoundly elevates the guest stay. Their dedication to culinary artistry is evident in every meticulously crafted dish, showcasing both exquisite traditional Indian flavors and sophisticated international cuisine prepared with unparalleled precision and creativity. Staying at Umaid Bhavan in the Royal Suite felt like living inside a dream. The palace itself is majestic, a sight that stirs awe both in the bright Jodhpur sun and under the starry night sky. Yet what makes the experience truly unforgettable is the hospitality. As a Rajasthani proverb says, Padharo Mhare Des, Mehmano sa roop Bhagwan….this spirit of warmth shines through in every corner of Umaid Bhavan. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was beyond expectation. Parkhee made us feel instantly at home, offering not just a seamless check in but also a private tour of the palace that made the history of the place come alive. Sajjanji, with endless patience and cheer, turned photographer extraordinaire, capturing hundreds of pictures for us across different parts of the palace and at different times of day, making sure every memory stayed with us. The team at Risala deserves equal praise. Narendar, Karan, Shobit and Rudresh served not just food but care on a plate. Every meal felt curated for us, and the attention to detail made dining an experience rather than just a routine. My husband who wasn’t feeling like having any dinner after the hi-tea was awestruck with the team’s compassion and rightly so when they, by themselves, bought a rajasthani delicacy and ice creams for him, keeping his allerigies in mind Umaid Bhavan also delights its guests with in house privileges that add layers to the stay. From exclusive heritage walks and access to museum galleries, to folk performances during Dinner and Breakfast, every activity feels like a peek into the cultural soul of Rajasthan. Add to that the serene spa, the vintage cars, and the feeling of being part of the palace family, and you realise it is more than just a hotel. They say hospitality is not about how grand the place is, but about how it makes you feel. Umaid Bhavan manages to combine both. The palace takes your breath away, but the people here touch your heart. This is not just a stay, it is a memory etched forever

It was our 6th time at the palace and we enjoyed it as much as always It was an amazing experience - the staff is exeptional - motivated, with the Most Personal and dedicated Service we could wish for The Restaurant and Bar serve innovative Cocktails and excellent food The property is stunning with all it’s Heritage and history and the beautiful Interior and the staff makes it even more Special Also the experiences from Horseriding and Polo Lessons and Hightee and the Heritage Walk are amazing We are already looking forward to coming back soon

Umiad Bhawan Palace is undoubtedly one of the best hotels in the world. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you will feel like royalty. We stayed for 2 nights to celebrate my birthday and the whole stay was brilliant. Whilst the hotel was expensive, we think it was worth the money for an incredible experience. Some of the highlights included: - Being given an upgraded corner room which had a bathroom bigger than most hotel rooms and 2 balconies with amazing views. - The service was so good that every time you left the room and returned, it had been cleaned and additional gifts had been provided. E.g chocolates, cookies, birthday balloons and cakes. - Making use of the facilities such as the pool area, tennis court and spa area which were all made up and ready to go at any time. - the most abundant breakfast we have experienced with unlimited options and an amazing view. - The friendliness of the palace staff which included a personal tour of the property by Sikander. Many of the staff have been working at the hotel for over 30 years and therefore know everything there is to know about hospitality and the palace itself. They give the hotel an ageless charm and add to the sense of history character. - All food which was prepared by Chef Shobit was delicious, especially the Indian meal we had at Risala restaurant. Some of the best food we had during our 2 weeks in India! The only warning that I would give to western travellers is that the service is incredibly hands on. The staff are so attentive that they will even spoon food onto your plate and top up your water every 2 minutes. You will also struggle to be alone around the property as an eager member of staff will always want to see if you need anything/require assistance. We really enjoyed this aspect of being attended to as it was on a different level to anything we had experienced before, but I would understand if some others preferred a more hands off approach. Overall, this is an incredible hotel and anyone who has the opportunity to stay here should jump at the chance to do so! We will make sure to return again someday and hope to see the same staff still at the hotel.

We stayed in Umaid Bhawan as part of our 30th wedding anniversary celebrations and had an amazing time. It’s such a fantastic building and all the staff are lovely and operate to a very high standard. Malvika and her team made our stay special, presenting us with an anniversary cake and a sword to cut it with! We had actually visited the palace 30 years ago, just to look around and have dinner and have great memories from then. So it was a real treat to meet Sikander who had worked there back then and share stories with him. The tour he gave us of the palace was fascinating too. Stay here if you ever get the chance.
