"Overall, I had a pleasant stay at KSL Hotel & Resort. The room was clean, spacious, and the bed was comfortable for a good night’s sleep. The location is excellent as it’s directly connected to KSL City Mall, making shopping and finding food very convenient. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were polite. The room could use a little updating in some areas, but it was still comfortable and worth the price. I would definitely consider staying here again for a short trip to Johor Bahru."

"Extremely disappointed. This hotel has serious housekeeping and maintenance issues. I booked St. Giles expecting a comfortable stay, but instead I spent my first night documenting the condition of the room because I simply couldn’t believe it had been inspected before being assigned to a guest. The bathroom was particularly shocking. The handheld shower head had visible black mould and grime around the spray nozzles. The grout and silicone around the shower were stained and discoloured, with mould visible in several areas. The floor drain was filthy, with built-up dirt that clearly hadn’t accumulated overnight. The bathroom door frame also had visible mould growing along the edge. It didn’t stop there. The air-conditioning vent was packed with dust, suggesting it hadn’t been cleaned in a very long time. The vanity still had obvious water stains and streak marks instead of being properly wiped down. The grout lines throughout the bathroom were dirty, the walls had scuff marks, and even the toilet bowl had visible staining. The bathtub also had marks and residue that made me question whether it had been properly cleaned before my arrival. None of these issues, on their own, would have ruined a stay. But when you see all of them together in a single room, it paints a worrying picture of the hotel’s housekeeping standards and quality control. It genuinely made me question what wasn’t visible if this is what was obvious to the naked eye. The only reason I’m not giving one star is because of the staff. Every member of staff I dealt with was friendly, courteous and genuinely tried their best to help. They listened, apologised and acted professionally. My frustration is not with them, it is with management. The frontline team shouldn’t have to apologise for problems that should never have made it past housekeeping or room inspection in the first place. St. Giles has a fantastic location and employees who clearly care about guests, but management is letting them down by allowing rooms to be presented in this condition. Until housekeeping standards and preventive maintenance improve significantly, I cannot recommend staying here."

"We had a wonderful 3D2N stay at JB R&F Cove 180 Degree Seaview 1BR Unit With Balcony from 20–22 June 2026. The location is excellent—just a short walking distance from the CIQ JB custom, making it very convenient for travellers coming from Singapore. The apartment is also located right beside R&F Mall, so food, shopping, and daily necessities are easily accessible. There's even a 24-hour coffee shop right below the apartment, which came in handy for late-night snacks and early-morning coffee. The unit itself was perfect for a couple's getaway. We especially loved the quiet and peaceful sea view from the balcony. Waking up to the calming scenery and sea breeze was truly relaxing. Although the washing machine does not have a dryer function, the strong sea-facing wind allowed our clothes to dry completely overnight, which was a pleasant surprise. That said, having a 2-in-1 washer-dryer would make the stay even more convenient and save guests’ time. For those who prefer their laundry dried quickly, there is also a laundromat conveniently located right below the apartment near the 24-hour coffee shop, making it an easy alternative. The kitchen was well-equipped with a proper refrigerator featuring both chiller and freezer compartments, as well as a microwave oven, which was a big plus point for us. The living area also came with a Smart TV that supports Netflix and YouTube, making it perfect for a relaxing movie night after a day out. One possible improvement would be the addition of a water filter dispenser, as it would provide even greater convenience for guests during their stay. Check-in was seamless and hassle-free. A friendly staff member personally escorted us from the check-in counter to the apartment, making the entire process smooth and welcoming. We didn't have enough time to try out the condo facilities such as the swimming pool, gym, and sauna, so we're unable to comment on those. However, getting around was very convenient. We booked Grab rides to Angsana Mall for a spa massage and to X-Park for go-kart and ATV rides, and both journeys were quick and hassle-free. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. The apartment was comfortable, well-located, and offered a peaceful environment for a relaxing getaway. We would not hesitate to stay here again on our next trip to Johor Bahru. Highly recommended!"

"We’ve tried most of the hotels and apartments around the KSL area, and Holiday Villa offers excellent value for money, especially if you book during off-peak periods and use vouchers from Trip.com. The location is fantastic, just a short walk from KSL City Mall, with plenty of eateries, cafés, massage outlets, and convenience stores both inside the mall and in the surrounding area. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with plenty of natural light during the day. There were multiple power sockets available, although USB charging ports were not provided. The bathroom was spotless, the water pressure was excellent, and all the essential amenities were included. One of the highlights is the infinity pool on the 25th floor, which offers great views of the city. There’s also a well-equipped fitness centre and a sauna for guests to enjoy. Our booking included a buffet breakfast, which exceeded our expectations with a good variety of food. The staff, both at the front desk and in the restaurant, were friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout our stay. Overall, I would highly recommend Holiday Villa Johor Bahru City Centre for anyone looking for a comfortable, relaxing stay in JB. It’s conveniently located, offers excellent facilities, and provides great value for money."
