Creta Vitalis

This hotel was adorable. We sadly only stayed one night as I booked it to be close to the airport for a very early flight. The staff was very helpful and inviting. The rooms were well laid out and clean. The bed was comfortable- the grounds were we’ll taken care of and view was photo worthy!  Overall, we absolutely wound return to Creta Vitalis if the opportunity arises!

We booked a double room with sea view way back in February 2025. We had already been to this area at Lena Beach Hotel which was amazing but unfortunately closed down so we booked Creta Vitalis as the pictures on the website showed beautiful rooms with a nice sea view from the balcony. Instead when we arrived we were given a room overlooking the carpark (photo attached) next to the reception so at night you hear all the talking at the reception with no possibility of resting. We were told that they consider the room sea view!! But after two days they said they would change our room to a better one. So this makes me think that the room overlooking the carpark was not our room and we were shifted around to accommodate someone else even though we had booked 6 months in advance. WiFi in the rooms is poor and rooms are dated and shabby. The bathroom was flooding every time you take a shower and the shower stand and tiles were broken. Breakfast is basic and always the same items each day with no variety. Whenever we tried to voice our complaints the staff were dismissive and said the owner is not reachable (even though there was an old man always seated in reception whom I think is the owner or related to him/her). Needless to say we will not return here or recommend to anyone. It’s pity an amazing hotel like Lena Beach Hotel has closed down as it well surpasses this mediocre hotel.

Amazing staff - kind, helpful, genuinely happy to be there and to welcome you. The setting is idyllic - relaxed, quiet, close to the beach, wonderful pool with a great view. The food is delicious, the service top-notch, the rooms super clean and with great room service. I don't have enough good things to say about this place. I will happily come back.

Creta Vitalis is run by a family, what makes it very comfortable. Everyone's very friendly and helpful. From here, beaches, Taverns, and some different travel destinations (like Imbros Gorge, Chania...) are very close.

We stayed at the hotel for the last week of our holiday and were slightly taken aback when shown to our room. Pictures on booking websites along with the information relating to it, were unfortunately not a true representation of it. The pool bar remained closed throughout our stay which we found disappointing and ended up at Lena Beach Hotel which for the same money was simply wonderful!! The pool tiles were filthy all around the edges and the depth signage were all loose and randomly placed around the outer edge. Breakfast was like a scene from Fawlty Towers and if you wanted your bread toasted, you had to hand the slices over to the person in the kitchen. We ate there once and that was enough. If you are driving, be extremely careful as there is no mirror on the very busy main road that you need to cross to get into the carpark. We took deep breaths each time we had to do so. There are amazing places nearby but a car is almost a must in this area as there are no pavements and very limited places to walk to. Highlight was the adorable cat that used to greet us in the morning and evenings upon our return. Room was generally clean and functional but not as the picture. Such a shame as the place has bags of potential.
