The Palace Hotel is an older establishment that is getting a little tired and in need of some TLC.
The room offered to us (#20) is very small, had a double bed (not queen size) and had the TV mounted very high up on the very high wall. The only way to watch it is to actually lie on the bed!
Issues encountered during both nights we stayed included doors banging, next doors TV and people talking loudly in the corridor even as late/early as 4am! Very poor standard of accommodation for $180 per night!
Would we do it again? No thank you.

Place was closed during our entire stay (over Easter weekend). Room was without electricity on arrival. Sorted by staff who appeared quickly on being informed and moved us to another room. More bad luck than negligence.

Had a great meal here, plate was full, had bangers and mash with onion gravy, they didnt have any colconon at the time so just normal mash and a bowl of vegies which was lovely fresh dutch carrots, caulii and brocollini, super fresh and cooked to perfection

I came here for dinner while I was visiting Kalgoorlie and ordered the garlic prawns with rice. It was only $32, was a large serving size and was easily one of the most delicious pub meals I have ever had. If I ever visit again I will absolutely come back here. Excellent!

For the price the room was very ordinary. Fridge was turned off on my arrival and has mould on shelves and in door. Aircon off room hot as hell initially.
There were hairs littered through the bed sheets. Certainly not mine which is concerning. I left at 5am because I felt uncomfortable being there. For the best part of $200/night for a single room the standard should be a lot higher I'm afraid. The room has squares not painted on the walls too. If you want to run a back packers lodge drop your prices significantly. If thats not the case then the standard needs to be a lot higher I'm afraid. I have lived in the Gold Fields for 30 years and have stayed at the Palace on several occasions. This might be the last time I'm sorry.

The wife and I stayed at another "irish" bar in boulder, and were not impressed so gave the irish bar at the palace a go for lunch. It blew us both away so we came back for dinner. We should've stayed at the palace. The service was friendly the prices were spot on and an exhaustive very thorough irish whiskey menu. The food was excellent, the decorations were very irish, from sporting memorabilia to old world charm and history. Did I mention free pool, good music, everything was clean. I really couldn't fault it. I will and have already recommended. I love your hotel. Thankyou.
