Kamogawa Grand Hotel

One of our family's most amazing stops this holiday. Kamogawa truly captured our hearts with its ocean views. Although the hotel is visibly older (you can tell), the staff really works hard to keep it in great condition. We had a large, beautiful room and a nice pool. We walked to the ocean beach along the shore path in 12-15 minutes. The breakfasts and dinners were excellent, with a ton of delicious seafood. Definitely book a private onsen with ocean views too! Thank you so much for the wonderful memories!

The hotel is right by the sea, offering fantastic views. It was also very convenient to get to, as the highway bus from Tokyo stops directly in front of the hotel. On the other hand, the facilities throughout the hotel felt a bit dated, and some of the wallpaper in our room was torn or peeling. However, this didn't really affect our stay, and we were still able to enjoy our time comfortably.

The room was spacious and clean, though some of the facilities felt a bit dated, especially the shower. The private in-room hot spring was very enjoyable. Both breakfast and dinner were buffet style, and the quality was decent. It's super convenient to get here, as there's a direct bus from Tokyo Yaesu that drops you right at the hotel entrance.

If you can overlook the hotel's aged exterior, which is understandable given its proximity to the sea, you'll find it to be a highly recommended stay overall, thanks to its exceptional cleanliness, excellent in-room bathroom, and attentive staff. I stayed in a Premium Floor View Bath Large Room with two others for one night at the end of June. The exterior does show its age, likely due to its seaside location. However, the interior, including our room and the entire facility, was impeccably clean. Besides the large public bath, our room also had a spacious and very clean private bathroom. The staff's service and demeanor were consistently polite and left a great impression. Even the international staff members were just as competent as their Japanese colleagues, reflecting high training standards. Another nice touch was the availability of toilets not just in the rooms but also throughout the building. Having two bath towels per person was also very convenient, making it easy to bathe twice, in the evening and morning. My only minor suggestions would be these three points: 1. There are only two elevators available for guests. Considering the total number of guests, this felt insufficient. While there are elevators closer to the center of the building, they are marked for staff only, and there's no explanation as to why guests can't use them. 2. I wished the showers in the public bath had stronger water pressure and more volume. 3. The dinner buffet operates in two sittings, with the second starting at 7:20 PM. However, this effectively means less time than the first sitting, and I would have appreciated being informed of this at check-in. Additionally, we were told that during peak times, we might have to dine in the lounge outside the restaurant. However, the downsides of using the lounge (e.g., the distance from the food stations to the seating, along with steps and small stairs) were not explained, making it unclear why this particular arrangement was emphasized. (While there are carts available to carry trays, they are prioritized for the elderly and those with disabilities, and their availability is limited.)

I went there to relax and unwind from work! The massage within the hotel was excellent, with skilled therapists. Even though I had a breakfast-included plan, the buffet had a wide variety of delicious options. My room was oceanfront, and the interior seemed to have been recently renovated, as the facilities felt modern and stylish, making it very comfortable. The futon and pillows were incredibly comfortable for sleeping. Being able to watch Netflix and YouTube also made my solo trip feel complete. Although I couldn't use the private open-air bath because it was full, the public large bath also had an open-air section, and it was great that there were different types of hot springs in different areas! Overall, I was extremely satisfied and would love to come back again. Next time, I'd like to try a dinner-included plan and also use the lounge.

I chose this hotel for my trip because it's by the sea and has a great atmosphere. The lounge on the eighth floor is particularly amazing, especially during afternoon tea. Sipping coffee while enjoying the view there was fantastic. The breakfast was also rich and varied, highly recommend it!

The location from our room was great, and being able to access the beach was a huge plus. The food was delicious too; we were very satisfied.
