The place is good for couples and solo travelers, but not suitable for families and groups. The rooms are small and can't accommodate more than 3 persons (excluding luggage) in one room. Rooms in different floors which makes it difficult for groups to spend time together. Location, although in city cannot be accessed by bigger vehicles. The main hall is poorly lighted, and the TV was not working. Photos in trip advisor do not reflect the actual size and feature of the property. Internet is not available in rooms. We moved out after Day 1 of our planned 3 days stay. The owner was accommodative and understood the difficulties faced as a group. It is a homestay

A lovely location in the Kandy hills, peaceful and quietly removed from the hustle and bustle of Kandy City, the Tenthola provides a great spot to rest up in Kandy for a couple of nights. The guest house has comfortable rooms with AC and all the facilities you need as a solo traveller. The terrace is perfect for relaxing in the cool Kandy evenings, enjoy a beer or soft drink while reviewing the day's experiences. It's not a 5 star luxury resort but nor is it trying to be. It's a well maintained property at reasonable prices for Kandy. The host is a true gentleman and a great conversationalist. I will definitely be returning there next time I need a place to stay in Kandy. Thanks.

Special thanks go to Mr Viper, a very helpful man with a vast knowledge of Sinhalese Buddhist culture. He even cooked for us at our request and the food was delicious. ^The Botanical Gardens in Kandy are a must-see.
