We were here for 3 nights and could very happily have stayed longer! The room was spacious (with double aspect beautiful views) and peaceful. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever experienced with soft and impeccably clean linen. We had a balcony area outside and a seating area inside. Everything was pristine and worked. From the moment we arrived, staff were very attentive. They helped us to organise a driver (Thiwanka - who was excellent) to take us to Sigiriya for a day trip (Lion's Rock and Dambulla Caves), a tour of Kandy the following day and to drive us to Hatton which was our next destination. The food in the restaurant was really good. Table service for dinner; likewise for breakfast on occasions when there weren't any other guests. My husband enjoyed a massage (I would have done too if we could have stayed longer) and we saw other guests enjoy the pool (which looked clean) and the garden. My only suggestion for improvement would have been to have more storage space (a wardrobe perhaps) but this wasn't a big deal since we only had a short stay. I would definitely recommend The Elegant Hotel if staying (just outside) of Kandy!

We spent a night here in January 2026 and wished we had stayed a little longer. We were coming from Sigirya and in the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah and didn’t know what to expect as we moved towards the hill country. I could not recommend this hotel more highly. It’s so lovely! We’d spend time in more expensive properties in Negombo (Uga Riva) and Sigirya (Roo Mansala) before we got to Kandy and this was my favourite. The setting for the hotel was great, the food is really tasty, plentiful and good value. The rooms are a great size and so are the views from the room. But the absolute best thing about the hotel is the staff. They really can’t do enough for you and there is not a weak link. We were travelling as a couple with our two year old and we felt so lucky to be treated so well. If you are considering this hotel, you will not be disappointed. We also had a lot of laundry turned around in one evening, I had a full body massage and we had dinner and drinks for three of us and it came to about £60. Incredible value!

The view is spectacular. Ama at reception and Roshan at the restaurant are exceptional people - professional, kind and efficient. Our room had a lovely view, expansive balcony, luxurious linens and a hot powerful shower. The food was flavorful, fresh and plentiful. We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Elegant Hotel Kandy and were pleasantly surprised at check-in when we were upgraded to the Presidential Suite—an unexpected but truly delightful gesture that made our visit extra special. The suite was spacious, well-appointed, and offered stunning panoramic views from two balconies—facing both east and west—allowing us to enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets. While the hotel is located a bit far from Kandy city, the peaceful setting and breathtaking scenery more than made up for the distance. It was the perfect place to unwind and relax after busy days of travel. The complimentary breakfast was simple but enjoyable, and we had dinner at the hotel on one night, which was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The staff were exceptionally polite and friendly, always ready to assist with a smile—something we greatly appreciated throughout our stay. A couple of small suggestions for improvement: including a tissue box and slippers in the room would add to the comfort. Overall, Elegant Hotel Kandy is a quiet hillside gem with outstanding views and warm hospitality. Highly recommended for those seeking a tranquil stay away from the city’s hustle and bustle.

The hotel with the most beautiful views all around. With big spacious, modern rooms, with a balcony on both sides, it provides a very peaceful stay. Being only 14km from Kandy, and having transport provided, it gives the opportunity to explore the city. The presidential suite was lovely, and we could see Adam's Peak from our balcony. The gardens are beautiful and there's lush greenery as far as the eye can see around the hotel. The staff were amazing, very helpful, and friendly - special mention to Roshan, who was funny and a great dinner host.

Wonderful location, great facilities. One of the best massages I’ve ever had. The staff were so attentive and friendly and helped us plan the best ways to explore. The location is the perfect blend of close to Kandy but also quiet and a great place to relax by the pool.
