Hotel Suisse Kandy - since 1890

Absolutely stunning, giant compound with an extensive history! They even offer a history walking tour but unfortunately there weren’t enough people signed up to make the tour happen. If you’re looking for a “colonial” stay, this is a great place. I recommend just walking around to see it for yourself. It’s also right on Kandy Lake, so it’s a nice walk (and not too far from the Kandyan Culture Center and the Sacred Tooth Temple Meals were good, but service sometimes is a little messy. Buffet was missing things like tongs or a cloth over the tray handles (which were hot to touch), but there’s a lot of servers walking around so I’m sure they’ll be able to do double-checks on this

Overall the hotel is very nice, but we were unlucky with the room. We booked for a room with two single beds, when we arrived it turned out to be a room with one queen bed. We asked for another room, and the new room was very quiet le and shabby room unfortunately.

This was the fourth time I stayed at Hotel Suisse. Great place. Good hospitality. It was a pleasant stay. The two you receptionist need to get more experience. They did not find any records of my trip.com booking. I had to find my records and provide those to them.
