I initially planned to book a two-night stay but was hesitant due to mixed reviews about the hotel. Instead, I opted to book for one night to see if it met my expectations, intending to decide later whether to extend my stay. After dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, I made up my mind and chose to extend for an additional night. The reception staff spoke good English, making the check-in process smooth. The set dinner and breakfast were delicious, with the restaurant staff being polite and attentive. I must commend the chef for the effort in creating varied menus for both dinner and breakfast each day of our stay. The onsen was quiet and peaceful during my visit around 5 PM. The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable; however, the lighting was too dim for my preference. The only downside of my stay was the weak Wi-Fi signal, not just in the room but throughout most areas of the hotel.

It is a 2-floor hotel with hot spring for the guests to enjoy. Though the staff speak little English, but they try their best to communicate. I enjoy most the food they offer. The package includes breakfast and dinner. To my surprise, the dinner is a 5-course french cuisine with coffee at the end. The quality is high not only the food but service. The breakfast is mixed with French and Japanese style. Main course is french and served, and the Japanese food and drink is in buffet style. I learnt that some people may find the location is not very convenient. However, the hotel provides shuttle bus service to and from the train station. Kindly make reservation in advance and the transport is well managed. If you love a relaxing and quiet holiday in Karuiazawa, this hotel is a good choice.

Everything was great. The room was large and comfortable, the staff were polite, and complimentary coffee and tea were provided. The parking lot was spacious, so there was no need to worry about finding a spot when returning late. The only downside was that I booked a one-night stay with two meals included, but I was disappointed. Dinner: The semi-buffet wasn't a problem, but there was only one main course: chicken, which I don't eat… The staff kindly told me I could have the buffet appetizers, but the selection was limited, so I ended up just eating a few pieces of bread… Breakfast: The buffet selection was limited and not very good… I might stay here again next time I'm in Karuizawa, but I definitely won't book a one-night stay with two meals included again.

The food was terrible; breakfast and dinner were much worse than those of a typical chain hotel. The service was good, but there was a clear shortage of staff. It seemed like there were only two servers for the entire restaurant with 20 tables. The hotel's hot spring facilities were also very poor.
