Qinivake International Hotel (Kashgar Ancient City)

Toilet and shower are within the same square metre; you will get wet. Sink tap almost didn’t function, splashing all over the place. The shower wouldn’t even work at times with hot water. Carpets are impossible to clean, as this room is another example of. Cleaning does not constitute just tidying up the bed. Found a bug in our room as well (squashed specimen pictured below). Bed was also incredibly hard, more suited for monks and not much better than lying on the floor. Additionally the room itself didn’t have a WiFi hotspot and had to rely on the neighboring rooms. Service was average, bare minimum, and nothing memorable.

Initially gave us a room of lower standard than we booked. When we asked why, we were moved to another room, a pretty poor room and all with a grudging attitude. Manager later upgraded us but the initial attitude cost them another 2 nights booking

Stay away from the rooms in the North Tower. They are dilapidated. My bathroom door could not close. The towels were damp. The shower had no shower curtain or anything that would prevent the bathroom floor from being all wet (see picture) I could not stay in the North tower, which looked like it was built in 1950s and have not been maintained or properly cleaned for 30 years. The carpet on the staircase was crumbled (see picture), like someone threw a crumbled towel on the floor. It was just disgusting. I paid for an upgrade to the main hotel tower. The rooms were much better than North Tower, but the signs of age, neglect and bad housekeeping were there. Floors were filthy, and the packaging of my tea bag had a hole (see picture). Please choose another hotel if you can. Do not be tempted to stay here just because it is close to the Old Town.

I've stayed here several times over the years; always a reliable option. Well located by the old city with lots of food and drink options nearby. Rooms are comfortable and the WiFi is good. Will stay again.

Hotel was ok, the breakfast was very good.
