Great location within walking distance to thamel, durbar square and just for walking around. Staff were very nice. Deluxe rooms not as stated on website. Do not have balcony or patio and were basic. Overall good place to stay while visiting Kathmandu.

Quiet, good sized rooms and peaceful location on edge of main central area. Nice garden and outdoor seating. Staff exceptionally helpful and sorted a minor bill issue very efficiently and in my favour. Would definitely visit again, didnt use canteen but bar /coffee were good.

I was originally in another Hotel for a couple of nights before moving to Hotel Ganesh Himal. Everything about that decision was good!!! I stayed in a roof top room for $25 per night, plus a couple bucks in taxes, so about $28. The view is killer especially with a few beers!! There is a restaurant and huge garden area with loads of seating for large groups. The food is sooo good! And they sell a limited variety of awesome local beers to go with it!! (Sizzling chicken Momo's are the bomb) There's a water bubbler in reception & you can fill yr container as much as you like. The Hotel is literally round the corner from tonnes of shops, restaurants, bars but that corner is yr buffer from the madness, so when you want to get away from the crazy that Nepal can be it's a great option. Very close, but far enough away. 😉 I did Pokhura & Lumbini & then came back to the roof at Hotel Ganesh Himal before I flew out. The staff are so genuine, kind and engaging, without being intrusive. The bed was awesome with fluffy doona and the water was hot. Not lukewarm. Hot! I will definitely go back there. Value for money✅ Service✅ Cleanliness✅ Beers on the roof✅✅✅😁

Had a fantastic experience at the Hotel Ganesh Himal. The location in Thamel is close to restaurants, bars and shops and walking distance to Durbar Square. The staff spoke good English and we found them friendly and very helpful. We opted for a standard room with a view of the courtyard which was a great option for the price. Our beds were comfortable, the bedding clean and our small ensuite immaculate. The hotel was secure and it was a delight to spend downtime away from the chaos and crowds in Kathmandu in the courtyard garden. The Ganesh Himal has a small in-house restaurant and although we didn’t often eat in I can heartily recommend the muesli with fruit and yogurt for breakfast.

Convenient Location, near Thamel, Kathmandu Durbar square and Swaymbhu. The staff and the garden are awesome. Beautifully painted lobby area. Clean and proper comfortable rooms with great view from the roof terrace. Very nice and quiet street. Great value for money.

We were very satisfied with our stay at Ganesh Himal. We were looking for a quiet place to relax and found exactly that as it is perfectly located in a quiet street between Thamel and Durbar Square, both in easy walking distance. It is a classical hotel with all the expected amenities like a good quality furniture, nicely painted and well thought out rooms and beautifully decorated reception area with free drinking water refill. The hotel consists of two separate buildings which are both facing the same tranquil garden where you can have your breakfast or any other meal from the good restaurant service. Only the most expensive room have a private balcony but the main building has very cosy communal areas to chill on every floor as well as a rooftop to sunbath, do yoga or enjoy the views up to Swayambhu (Monkey) Temple and Kathmandu. The hotel has 4-5 different room categories, which are all worth to check out to find your ideal place to stay. The staff people of the hotel couldn't have been more friendly and helpful and I genuinely enjoyed every encounter with them. There is also a tour company office at the reception. The hotel is very safe, the gate gets locked at night and there is always somebody to let you in and out. I would definitely come back here anytime and are grateful for our stay.

Great staff, helpful and friendly; a great courtyard garden to relax in after the sensory overload of Kathmandu. It's very noisy but that's the location!
