Ionian Sea View Hotel - Corfu

We arrived early Monday morning at Ionian Seaview Hotel and spoke to the young receptionist who gave us the room key and pointed us in the direction of our room. Walking to our room we noticed lots of rubbish, cracked step tiles and a dead bird by the pool which gave us cause for concern before we even entered our room. On entering our room, straight away we had several issues that we were very unhappy with, these are as follows and can be seen within the photos attached: 1. Toilet had unsightly brown marks round the bowl. 2. A large cobweb in the corner above the bed that had been there for days as it was dusty. 3. Plug socket at the side of the bed was hanging off the wall, a major safety issue! 4. Pipe below the kitchen area sink was exposed and moldy with hair on it. 5. Mold in the corner of the bathroom. 6. Bugs on the ceiling of the bathroom 7. Mold on the bottom of the internal door and coming away at the bottom 8. Shower curtain was dirty and moldy 9. Dust on the bedside lights and curtains We went back to reception to notify the receptionist that we were not happy with our room and requested if we could be moved to another, but was told that there was nothing that he could do until the Manager was in at 9am that morning, so we decided to go to bed and sort it out when we woke up. When we got back to our room, we tried to ring the On The Beach helpline, but couldn't get through. When we woke, we went straight to the reception to report our issues to the Manager and asked if he could arrange for us to be moved, but he didn't seem too concerned and said that there was nothing that he could do until Wednesday or Thursday as they were fully booked, but he did say that he would get the cleaner to get rid of the cob web and clean the toilet although he did say this was due to being by the sea, which has never been the case anywhere else we have stayed by the sea! We decided to go for breakfast, but began to notice other things that we were unhappy with. Whilst we were at our table we noticed ants running all over the table and cutlery. As we tried to see where the ants were coming from we noticed missing tiles from underneath the table. We walked back to our room and noticed a broken tile on the stairs and rubbish everywhere including a tampon, broken glass and cigarette butts At this stage we had seen and had enough and decided that we would have to book another hotel! When leaving the keys with the Manager, he asked if there was anything he can do, but he had already told us they was nothing he can do until the Wednesday or Thursday, but we had only booked for 4 days so couldn't wait till then as we were returning home on the Thursday! My partner was really upset that she couldn't sleep even though exhausted from the flight, and it being 1 hour delayed  she just wanted to go home, however we managed to arrange another hotel. when we got back home, we made a complaint through our booking provider who was On The Beach on

Would not recommend staying at the Ionian Sea View Hotel, it was awful. The rooms had black mould, it was dirty and generally poorly maintained. It was not a pleasant place to stay, the staff seemed generally uninterested, which made for a dreadful stay! The linin was either dirty or damaged, with the bath mats being covered in holes!

Avoid dirty disgusting unhygienic smelly hotel. To start off with the woman charged 65 euros for air-conditioning. Then 12 euros for WiFi that didn't work and 50 euros deposit. The bed was broken and the curtain was ripped. The toilet broke multiple times and they even left the stove on. The 'cleaned our room once' and didn't even make the bed. The room is full of dust and mould and bedbugs and more. The pool is green and the breakfast was minimal with no options of drinks. The room is small. No space. The view is nice I would say. The hotel needs sort it out. Waste of money

Awful hotel , standard of rooms beyond atrocious . Spent one night and had to leave . Arrived too late for even a pool towel . Avoid at all costs unless you’re 17 and on a mates holiday. 1 clothes hanger and atrocious service . Weather is the only positive thing about this hotel .
