The most beautiful night away - worth a visit for the spa area alone!! We were lucky with the weather to fully enjoy all the outdoor facilities (although I’m sure there would be something quite nice about being outside in all weathers). We had an estate king room which was modern and spacious (I personally would prefer this over the Manor House rooms available). Originally we were ‘disappointed’ that Sunlaws the fine dining restaurant wasn’t going to be open (closed Mon/Tues) BUT we ate at Charlie’s and it was delicious! The octopus starter was a highlight! The spa... wow the spa!! As a hotel guest you get complementary access to all the facilities - families are also welcome between 9-10am and 4-5pm (I actually expected this to be an adults only area) Outdoor pool, plunge pool, 2 saunas a jacuzzi and a beautiful relaxation area. Well worth the early start to experience the sunrise from the outdoor pool Breakfast had a great hot and cold buffet as well as a la carte options. Also perfect omelettes made to order (my go to hotel breakfast!) Also new this summer is the Kio House of Kids. Open 9.30am - 5pm for ages 4-12 (children under 4 can also go but must be accompanied by an adult) I have more videos on my instagram @eastontravel709

Beautiful hotel, lovely stay. Spa and breakfast are part of room rate and good value for money. Breakfast team and lady at breakfast reception are wonderful. Parker played golf and recommends a buggy! Some little complaints but will deal with via hotel.

Amazing experience on the grounds of a historic castle. The staff is incredibly friendly and worked hard to provide the best service possible. The castle and grounds are gorgeous. We were there for a wedding and it was magical. The food, the setting, the entire weekend was so enjoyable!

Stayed for a special occasion, did get a wee card in the room but nothing extra (leaves a little sour taste when others mention getting a wee freebie Prosecco etc - not expected, just nice to be consistent with guests). Communication great, service from front desk was brilliant. Charlie’s restaurant was great for dinner, but slow service at breakfast for the hot food. Saw others with mimosas etc and we didn’t get offered these and had to call someone to ask for a La carte hot food in the end. Disappointed to have two twin beds zipped together instead of a double when I booked a king room. Lots of flies in the room on the windows. Marks on the toilet and on the bathroom walls. Sadly no spa slots on either day of my stay, really disappointing that I couldn’t have a treatment there - feel like keeping some back for guests would be beneficial. It’s a beautiful hotel but almost felt like a second class citizen there - can’t quite put my finger on it - despite spending over £500 including food/drinks/accommodation.

Amazing stay and the best spa in Scotland imo. The activities on offer were fantastic. Shooting and Archery with Malcolm was the highlight of our trip. The golf course was a lovely layout, beautiful holes and a challenge. Dinner at Charlie’s was incredible. Venison is a must try. The breakfast on offer was delicious. Fresh pancakes made in front of you along with a massive selection of everything you would need to start you up for the day.

Miss Sophie Younger made our dining experience superb, I cannot thank her enough for her maitre d' care and warm hospitality. This was our first visit to this beautiful hotel that is in a delightful building. We will be back as soon as possible.

My daughter took me for an overnight stay in this fabulous hotel and it did not disappoint: we enjoyed some excellent meals with attentive but discreet service. Our room was well appointed and very comfortable. It would have benefitted from somewhere to sit with a mirror to help while drying our hair and applying makeup. We also had two treatments in the spa (facials, £160 each) which were lovely but expensive. It wasn't great seeing the therapists arriving in their coats while we sat waiting in our robes. Then to overhear remarks about confusion over the start time of our appointments leading to the rooms not being properly set up before welcoming us in to quickly start out facials. My therapist was quite brusque initially. It gave a poor start to the session which wasn't helped by the soothing music having to be switched on once we had entered the treatment room and then it 'skipping' and crackling during the beginning of the treatment. I've had better beauty treatment experiences for much less cost. The spa area and pool however was a gorgeous environment.

Rooms are gorgeous - comfy beds, good quality linen, modern and spacious bathrooms with powerful showers and great air con units/temp control. Spa is just perfect - the relaxation area is great, as is the pool and there are jacuzzis and sauna options too. Only thing I would change is just having a bigger pool to do proper lengths. It was our babymoon and lots of pregnant coiples visiting, its very pregnancy friendly and offers maternity massages. Restaurant food is lovely too and kids menu is good fresh food too for anyone with children. I would go down earlier for breakfast though as food does run out and they do stop serving at the eggs station and food to order dead on breakfast closing time. Would be lovely if kitchen staff were a bit more accommodating as we ordered at 2 minutes past and were told they would not do any food to order which seems a tad overkill, especially as we were told that was just last seating time not the end of breakfast food completely.
