Extremely friendly and helpful staff! Beautiful and interesting buildings with amazing room decor. It has a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere with a restaurant and spa.

This was our first trip to Cambodia and had a great experience! After the initial few days in Phnom Penh we went north to Siem Reap and Angkor Wat, finishing off with the last 4 nights down on the coast in Kep, staying at the Knai Bang Chatt. We visited late October, the end of the rainy season, so it was still a bit quiet in terms of tourist numbers. Knai Bang Chatt is a fantastic, small boutique hotel comprising a few old but well renovated villas from the French colonial era and the property runs down to the beach and the Gulf of Thailand. We had a great room with balcony overlooking the sea and the staff could not have been better, helpful at all times. They arranged a couple of trips for us, by tuk-tuk, around the surrounding area including a visit to one of the estates producing the famous Kampot Pepper. We also enjoyed a Kmer cookery class so thanks to Chef Chuon Sokheng and his team for that experience. The hotel itself is only a few minutes walk, or tuk-tuk ride, from the local crab market and the excellent selection of restaurants along the waterfront. We went to the Holy Crab, recommended by the hotel, and had had some excellent food, including the local speciality, Kampot Pepper Crab. Many thanks to all the hotel staff for making the last bit of our Cambodia trip so enjoyable and would recommend a holiday in Cambodia to anybody and, in particular, a stay at the Knai Bang Chatt.

We stayed at Knai Bang Chatt Resort for 5 days (Monday to Friday). It was a very pleasant and quiet stay. The pool is beautiful and very pleasant. The yoga classes are soothing. The staff is available and friendly. The Strand restaurant is very chic but there is not much choice, while the Wave restaurant offers many specialties.

We went for a yoga/wellness retreat and loved the experience. Lana and her team sorted everything and the balance of free time and activities such as yoga, sound bath, meditation, and more was so wonderful! The accommodation and food was an amazing bonus. Kudos to Lana, the chef, and all the staff for making it such a wonderful experience.

Like soho house ten years ago with quiet considered charm and quirky corners to explore and escape to. Don’t miss out on the private sunset cruise - 90 minutes adapted wooden boat and fabulous english speaking Kim who pointed out the history and stories behind the coastal buildings. Delicious canapés - bubbles and anchovies jumping by the boat as the sun went down - propped up on cushions. Just magic and the best sunset cruise we have done. One of our great holiday memories. Things have changed since a lot of the reviews on the internet and photos. The beach is now wider for instance. Loved the hotels Coco beach bar - movie on the sand at weekends and during the day had a few tented sunbeds and great service as a change up from the pool. (They had brought more sand in so was soft to enter the warm sea). Facilities/ equipment at the well established beach club for sailing - hiring jet skis all excellent. Our deluxe room 13- on an upper floor lovely with pool view and mosquito net perfect at night. No bites only saw the occasional one too. Easy walk to the crab market. Lunch at arts cafe we recommend with little outdoor balcony. Kep adventure park - zip line since 2024 - looked great but no time to try. Live musical Entertainment at the hotels waterfront wave for drinks was fun with people dancing and we grabbed a great pizza. Breakfast - excellent coffee and options -loved the granola bowl with Greek yogurt and banana and tamarind and the French toast with banana and honey was divine. Had a refined dinner one night at the hotels ‘strand’ which was a nice change from the bustle at the market. Great duck dish. Recommend you ask in advance for options of all the adventures the hotel can lay on which were easily tailor tweaked to preferences with options of upgrade for lunches with wine etc We enjoyed the Rabbit island experience with lunch. Another couple loved their fishing day trip ( had their catch for dinner) with the glamorous woman catching the most ! They provide a straw sun hat and great natural made mosquito repellant in the room. Sihanoukville port was a 2.5 hours drive away. We had three nights here and loved our stay - could easily have stayed longer as much more to do than we suspected and it’s a truly stunning oasis by the sea and one of our favourite hotels of our trip.
