From beginning to end our stay was excellent. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. Food was outstanding. There was no cocktail the bar staff weren’t willing to make for you, you name it and they made it. We were celebrating a birthday and as you can see in the image they went out of their way to make an occasion of it. Couldn’t recommend enough, worth every penny.

This was my first visit. The word that comes to mind is 'Spectacular'.From the moment we arrived there was a warm welcome. The rooms are so comfortable a nd of course the views over the lake and the surroundings are amazing. The food and service was excellent. A special mention for server, Rebecca. Courteous, funny and most important efficient - everything exactly as ordered. Two minor quibbles - I would like to see a handrail at the bath; and on the same theme, a handrail, even two, along the steep walk down to the lake. My email reveals my age! Nevertheless I hope to return soon. Hopefully at Christmas. Thank you.

Lovely location, lovely decor. Stayed her with 3 friends for our annual catch up and a special birthday celebration. Enjoyed the pool and the hot tube which was extra. However considering the prices charged we (along with other guests) were very disheartened and surprised by the service. Check in was efficient and our room was ready early which was a bonus. No pleasantries or small talk. We went to the outdoor bar area for a drink while waiting on the rest of our friends to arrive. There was no cocktail menu available as they were currently upgrading the list of cocktails, the bar staff had a limited list of what was available. There was a 40+ minute wait for drinks to be delivered (no fruit in the gin, ice had melted) to the table despite what seemed like numerous staff&managers circling the area, they also failed to notice all the empty tables full of empty glasses/ drinks. When our drinks arrives they still failed to clear our table from the previous occupiers. Dinner was nice but also staff failed to clear the plates from starter course and proceeded to squash our mains and desert onto the table, all plates/dishes remained on the table for the duration of our 3 course meal. Into the bar a short walk from the restaurant and there was no sparkling water available, despite it been on tap in the restaurant. The bar man didn't seem to think it possible to go to the restaurant for some, until asked if he could oblige us, which he did. Breakfast the following morning, again several staff circling, however the bread, the yogurt, granola, knives remained depleted and not restocked. They forgot our Tea, when it arrived we had no cups. The young girl serving is never smiled once, never engaged in any small talk, never asked if we needed anything if our meal was nice etc. in fact we felt like we were putting her out. Managers were extremely casual in both there dress and there attitude to small basics of running a hotel/restaurant. Lots of casual chats with staff bit no initiative or foresight. Very disappointing. On check out we were not asked how our stay was, were we happy with everything did we enjoy ourselves. We were not even shown an invoice/breakdown of the bill just the card machine to pay. When questioned on an invoice I was told it would be emailed to me, I had to ring the next day for the email. This hotel is beautiful and for the prices charged they need to get the small details right. Unfortunately I heard other guests complaining to managers on the day, we maybe should have done the same on check out.

Excellent service from Matilde. Very attentive. Highly recommend. Excellent food. Went for the cod and the side were to die for.

Excellent service Yesterday myself and my partner got a babysitter and met two friends in the afternoon Glasson is in the middle for us both so it is our meeting point every once in a while. In the bar we decided we’d treat ourselves to a cocktail. I was unsure what I wanted and the bartender could see this. Tierna looks like a girl who loves her job and it’s very evident she’s happy in what she does, she seen my confusion and asked me what I’d usually like sweet or sour or bitter etc and I trusted her judgement and got the nicest cocktail. It was my first time trying an amaretto sour (I think that’s what she called it) she was working with another young lad Andy, they both seemed to get along very well as a team and look so happy in their jobs having a laugh while serving guests is great to see. Very skilled, knowledgeable ,kind and funny staff Will be returning for sure !!!!

Delicious food. Lovely atmosphere. Really impressed by our waiter Matilda who checked in on us to make sure we were content and had everything we wanted. Really impressed with the service.
