"The location is absolutely fantastic, and the room was incredibly quiet. Despite being right above Kokura Station, I didn't hear any bullet train noise. The front desk staff spoke English and provided excellent service. I personally timed it: once you exit the elevator on the 3rd floor at Starbucks, it's a quick three-minute walk to the JR platform (if you know your way around) – it's just so convenient! The room wasn't small for a Japanese hotel, it was very clean, and had a ton of outlets, plus a power strip with two two-prong outlets and two USB ports. The drip coffee was also delicious, not acidic at all, haha. Next to the JR station, in Meihin-gura, you can find Nunu Chicken and a small selection of Chiikawa merchandise. Right downstairs from the front desk is the AMU shopping mall. Inside the station, there's Shin-Shin ramen and a FamilyMart. You can walk via a covered walkway to Uomachi Shopping Street and the adjacent mall with Zara, as well as the mall with the yellow anime bear head – no need to get wet in the rain. There's a piano in Kokura Station, and people often play it when passing by."

"Location of hotel is very good, Level 2 has a sheltered walkway linked to Kokura station. When exit from the door, turn right to take the route towards stadium, this is faster as it has a travellator. It’s less walking than walking towards Lawson and pass the anime building to the same kokura station entrance. From kokura, can access many malls such as Vierra, AMU plaza, Saintcity and etc. If the tower floor has discount, highly recommend to take it as the amenities are good and refilled each day of the stay. Free access to Tower library which is a quiet and cozy area to chill and enjoy the free drinks with a nice view. There are hot and iced coffee, tea, calpis, Minute Maid etc. Breakfast set menu for tower room only is good, had a special fish dish on the both days I went, service is top notch. Buffet spread at level 1 is good too, has many tasty selections. After the buffet, can even takeaway a cup of coffee from the entrance coffee machine."

"I stayed here for one night on a business trip. This was my second time staying here. With its onsen (hot spring baths), delicious breakfast, and proximity to the station, it's a very good hotel for the price/performance ratio."

One thing I appreciate so much is I store my luggage in the locker and don’t know it have PIN code, cannot pick up. "this was the worst service hotel in my 12 days japan trip. the staff were not sincere in their service, i checked in 30min before 3pm and was asked to pay early check in fee for 1hr. not a huge issue, but the tone and attitude of the staff left a sour note to our trip. location was convenient as it’s right smack in Mojiko. rooms were fairly dated and cleanliness can be improved."

"Stayed at Hotel Livemax Kokura Ekimae and loved how convenient it was — right next to the train station yet surprisingly quiet. The room has all the basic amenities you need, plus a microwave and kettle in the room which was super handy. Room size is just right for travelers with a small cabin luggage, clean and functional. Perfect for a short stay in Kokura!"

"The location is convenient, very close to Kokura Station, there are many restaurants nearby, skin care tea and coffee are provided in the hotel lobby, and the staff are friendly to answer questions. It is basically worth recommending."

"The hotel and room are new and modern generally, situated mins away from the station. It is very strategically located from the mall, eateries and good for rejuvenating after a long journey interstate. However, the bed is relatively small, overly soft to my liking and I woke up to itch. The morning breakfast with curry rice and nato is also my favourite part of the stay. Generally all is good."

"It is located 400m on foot from Kokura Station, so it is very accessible. Overall, I like it, but the following two things are dissatisfactory. Please note for those who made a reservation ------------------------------ 1. Luggage storage service is case by case Luggage storage service is usually provided. (It is a hotel, so it is natural!) However, I was told that I could not store my luggage (I visited early in the morning) and the reason was that there was no place to store my luggage. They told me to use the Kokura Station coin locker (large suitcases cost 700 yen per day). Since it is a business hotel, there are more business travelers than tourists, so I think it would be difficult to provide luggage storage service. (I guess there are more business travelers than tourists.) There were two people at the desk, and the junior wanted to store my luggage as much as possible, but the senior absolutely said no, so I ended up leaving only one of the three. ------------------------------ 2. I recommend going at the check-in time (but ....) It may not be exact, but based on what I saw during my stay, the curtains are drawn at the desk in the afternoon. That means there may not always be staff at the desk. (Of course, they will come out if you ring the bell.) ------------------------------ And I liked the following: 1. Digital door lock without a key You use a number instead of a key. When you check in, they give you a paper and you can use it with this number. The door on the first floor also closes between 00:00 and 07:00, but you can still enter and exit with the same number you were given. There is no need to check out because there is no key or cart key. You can just go. 2. Bathroom Since the rooms are small, if you don't want to take a stuffy bath, you can use the bathroom. However, there is only one bathroom, and the use of men and women is restricted depending on the time. * Men 18:00 ~ 19:50, 22:00 ~ 7:50 the next morning   * Women 15:00 ~ 17:50, 20:00 ~ 21:50, 08:00 ~ 09:30 the next morning   The women's bathhouse door is closed and they give you a number to enter when you check in. (Only a curtain is drawn during men's bathing hours) The bathhouse is very small. So I recommend going as soon as it starts or going late. 3. Free breakfast Unlike Trip.com's information, it says to pay for breakfast at the hotel, but it's free.   * Hours are 06:30~08:30 on weekdays   * Weekends 06:30~09:00   Since it's a business hotel, I think it's a time that suits people who go to work. Food is good, with rice, soup, natto, about 4 side dishes, bread, coffee, and other drinks. (The side dishes keep changing, but the roe keeps coming out.) (Note: When booking on Trip.com, if you search for accommodation for 2 people, breakfast is free, and if you search for accommodation for 3 people, breakfast is provided separately.) 4. Welcome Bar There is a vending machine with drinks and several types of alcohol at the breakfast area from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. ( There is no beer, but it seems to be a traditional liquor that Japanese people often drink.) Since Kitakyushu itself closes early in the evening, I often used it to bring a drink up to the accommodation when I dropped off my shopping at around 6-7 PM. 5. If you do not request cleaning when staying for multiple nights, they give you a bottle of water. If you leave a towel that needs to be replaced in front of the door, they will put a new towel and a bottle of water in an eco-bag and leave it in front of the door. 6. Various room amenities They are located next to the elevator on the first floor. In addition to basic amenities (toothbrushes, cotton swabs, etc.), they are divided into two sections and you can use gargles, lotions, skin lotions, and relaxation sheets (similar to foot bathing). They are open during check-in time, but closed after breakfast. You can take as much as you need for dinner. ------------------------------ [Overall] Since Kitakyushu is a small city, many stores close early in the evening. (Don Quijote is also open until 3 a.m., but the store is small.) So, rather than just sleeping like in a big city like Osaka, I think the choice of hotel is more important than other places because the stay is a little longer."
