Knysna Villa, 17 Spinnaker Drive Waterfront Knysna 6 of us were promised by the agent that we would have a wonderful 4 or 5-star accommodation 4-bedroom unit. But the downstairs room was locked away with the owner’s goods and not available for us to use. The owner of the property (Heather) did not organise someone to carry our bags upstairs. Upstairs, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms were available. While we were in the above property, firstly the TV was not working, and no instructions were provided. In the evening, we didn’t have any power. We had to use candlelight. The master bedroom was occupied by 2 travellers (ladies), the other 2 travellers (ladies) were using the upstairs common bathroom. Therefore, we (a couple) ended up using the downstairs bathroom for the whole night without light. We don’t understand why Heather could not organise the downstairs room for one party. As soon as we lost power, we could not contact anyone until the following day, when the driver arrived. Without power, Wi-Fi was not available, and we all had flat batteries for our phones and could not charge them. We could not even contact the security guard. No clear instructions were provided on what to do in an emergency. The swimming pool was filthy with a lot of dead leaves. When we arrived, we had one 250ml milk carton and no coffee/Tea, etc for 6 of us for two days and Heather was not there. The cleaner gave the keys, and she had no clue about this accommodation. How can you call this 4 or 5-star accommodation? Unfortunately, this villa did not meet the expected standards, despite assurances that they would be accommodated in 4 or 5-star properties, it is evident that certain establishments failed to meet even basic safety and quality standards.
