D'Angleterre, Copenhagen

This is an expensive hotel but everything in Copenhagen seems to be expensive!! Price is high but probably the best hotel in Copenhagen. It is in a great area and staff very friendly. Our room was lovely and very comfortable. The spa is amazing and the staff there were beyond kind and thoughtful.

We travel a lot often staying in luxury hotels around the world. D angleterre has one if not the best staff and service we ever have experienced. The location and everything is absolutely fantastic. Do nott miss the breakfast. Highly recommended.

d’Angleterre is a superb hotel, an early 19th century masterpiece of a grand hotel, seamlessly updated into a very modern luxury experience. The staff has achieved just the right balance of friendliness and gracious service, and all seem genuinely happy to contribute to making your stay perfect. The junior suites are ideal, and the upper floor views across the square just wonderful. The location is ideal, with several Michelin rated restaurants nearby, (all welcoming and unstuffy, with incredibly delicious. menus) and easy access to the Metro and the waterways, not to mention fine shopping and numerous fun bistro. The hotel restaurant, Marcal, is one of those wonderful Michelin venues, and serves a delicious and varied buffet breakfast that is a destination meeting spot for local professionals. The city of Copenhagen is so vibrant and welcoming, bustling with a laid back healthy energy and a staggering variety of neighborhoods and milieux. Do visit both by land and by water, two very different experiences.

A very bad and upsetting experience and a deep dissatisfaction with the booking experience I recently had at Hotel d'Angleterre. I had planned to book a suite and arrange a photoshoot for my upcoming wedding at Hotel d'Angleterre. However, the entire process has been nothing short of frustrating, and I feel compelled to share my concerns regarding the service I received. From the outset, I encountered significant difficulties navigating through your system. Despite my willingness to invest a substantial amount for my wedding celebration, I found myself caught in a seemingly endless loop of requests for permissions and approvals. This not only added unnecessary stress but also reflected poorly on the overall service provided by the hotel. What exacerbated the situation was the inconsistency in the application of policies. I diligently provided evidence that members of my immediate family had been granted similar requests without the need for additional permissions. Moreover, it came to my attention that they were offered special rates for their suites, further highlighting the lack of transparency and fairness in the booking process. I understand that every establishment has its policies, but the arbitrary nature of the approvals and the apparent discrepancy in treatment have left me disheartened. As a customer who was genuinely willing to invest in a memorable experience at Hotel d'Angleterre for my wedding, I expected a smoother and more accommodating process.

Absolutely fantastic service - from the moment the taxi pulled up outside - until the moment we left the Hotel. Staff were exemplary and so friendly and helpful. Food was delicious, nothing was too much trouble and we loved the complimentary Ginger shots on the breakfast tray! Thank you all for making our weekend so special. We'll be back. I'm already looking forwards to it!

If you were to describe your perfect City hotel which starts off with the best location, the warm welcome, efficient check in process, beautiful room with every small detail anticipated and then followed up by great food, service and a warm inviting lounge area beautifully decorated for Christmas then D'Angleterre is the place to stay. If there was a D'Angleterre in every city with this standard then there would be a lot of very happy travelers.

What a classy hotel! Five star service in a top location. The breakfast is wonderful. Our suite was divine. They are renovating the hotel at the moment which means much of it is undercover but we didn’t mind that though some might. Special remarks about Casper at the front desk. He could not have been more helpful and what a lovely person! He even helped me translate Danish for my family tree! A concierge of the future! A special place to stay.

Everything in this hotel is nice and good. Service is very professional and friendly. Everything looks good. You can see first class everywhere. Superior room is spacious enough. Bathroom is large, shower is good. Japanese toilet. However, there is very little space for your toilet bag and other stuff. I barely managed on my own, and with my wife we would have run out of space. Tv set is B&O, very nice, although I don't like its remote control. Bed was very good. Gym is quite small. Technogym devices all, and they are rather new. Water and towels available. Spa is composed of pool, sauna, steam room and treatment rooms. It's quiet and nice, but nothing special. Breakfast is a small disappointment. Everything is good, but nothing special. I would consider variety quite limited and taste is not at the level I expected. I would rate the coffee rather poor. The same applies for bar menu in the evening. Lobster tagliatelle tasted as made of can. This is a first class and 5 star hotel, there is no question about it. However, due to my experience of quite many hotels around the world, many much more expensive, I cannot find anything here justifying 750 euros rate for a night.

The Hotel D’Angleterre is by far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. I HIGHLY recommend this accommodation during your visit to Copenhagen. The staff at the front door was very welcoming and had a joyful greeting every time I walked in. The front desk employees helped me with all my needs and was even able to assist me with getting an early room. The concierge was also great with recommending two delicious restaurants. The room was also beyond amazing and I felt at home there. I absolutely had no complaints at all with my room. The balcony was by far my favorite feature of it. I could read the newspaper while having a coffee and watch the sunrise. I truly hope to come back to this fantastic hotel!
