Silavadee Pool Villas Samui: An Honest Review 🇹🇭 Silavadee Pool Villas, Koh Samui My honest thoughts after staying at this popular cliffside villa. 🏝️ Location: Even closer to the sea than the neighboring Banyan Tree. The hotel is nestled on a cliffside promontory at Lamai Beach, right next to the Banyan Tree. However, Silavadee's overall terrain is more beachfront, directly facing the entire bay, giving it a naturally superior ocean view. Surrounding amenities aren't the most convenient: The nearest convenience stores and restaurants are at least a 15-minute walk away. If you don't want to walk, don't worry – the hotel offers complimentary shuttle services to Chaweng Beach and Lamai Town, making getting around quite hassle-free. 🏡 Room Types & Recommendations: Ocean View Villa The hotel primarily features detached Thai-style villas, categorized into first-row ocean view, partial ocean view, and garden view villas, along with basic standard rooms. My immediate impression was that the indoor room space wasn't as large as advertised. However, the private terrace and private pool with ocean views more than made up for it. On the first night, we were assigned Villa 28. There was an observation deck in front, obstructing the ocean view. Not only was the view incomplete, but the privacy of the terrace was very poor – you could see directly into the room from outside. I immediately contacted the front desk, and they kindly moved us to Villa 29 the next day, free of charge. This villa offered an unobstructed panoramic ocean view, and the terrace was completely private with a phenomenal view – a world of difference! 👉 Tip for your stay: Be sure to request a first-row ocean view villa, specifically number 29 or higher. Villas 26 and 27 also offer better ocean views. If you're only planning to stay in a basic room type, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. 🌊 Public Areas & Beach: Stunning pools, average beach The hotel's overall public area isn't particularly large, but it boasts two expansive infinity pools perched on the cliffside overlooking the ocean, perfect for photos. It also has a private beach at the foot of the hill, but it's quite rocky, and the sand is coarse, making it uncomfortable to walk barefoot. It's fine for taking pictures, but not ideal for leisurely strolls or swimming. 🍴 Dining: The hotel's biggest highlight, breakfast is divine! The only absolutely flawless aspect of this hotel is its dining. It completely exceeded my expectations, comprehensively outshining the InterContinental I stayed at previously in terms of taste and ambiance! 1. Cliffside Breakfast Restaurant The breakfast restaurant is built on the cliff, offering a 180° unobstructed ocean view. It operates on a buffet-plus-à-la-carte model, and all the freshly prepared dishes are consistently excellent – you can't go wrong. Every dish has amazing flavor and seasoning, and enjoying breakfast with the sea breeze is an incredibly blissful experience. 2. MOON Restaurant (popular spot) Previously a dedicated breakfast spot, it's now exclusively for dinner. Located next to the second main pool, it offers a fantastic ambiance for a romantic dinner, enjoying Western cuisine and seafood with the sea breeze at dusk. ⚠️ Real Drawbacks: Consider carefully before booking It's a bit overpriced, heavily leans into its 'influencer hot spot' status, and attracts many Chinese tourists. During peak season, room rates are high, and considering the overall amenities, it's not particularly cost-effective. ✍️ Final Recommendation for Your Stay This is a cliffside 'influencer' hotel with very polarized pros and cons. Its advantages are the stunning cliffside ocean views, private pools in individual villas, and a top-tier cliffside breakfast. Its downsides include challenging uphill walks, many mosquitoes, average amenities, and a less-than-ideal value for money. If you decide to stay: I only recommend booking a first-row ocean view villa or higher. I absolutely do not recommend booking basic room types. Make sure to communicate in advance to avoid Villa 28, which has an obstructed view!

The room was very spacious and clean, with a large balcony. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a bottle of chilled sparkling wine and dessert. The front desk staff spoke Chinese and were exceptionally friendly every month. When cleaning the room, they even replaced the ice in the ice bucket. Every afternoon, small snacks were delivered. One day, I returned to a cleaned room, but I had messed up the bed. During the short time I went out for dinner, the staff who delivered snacks also tidied up the room again and re-made the bed – fantastic! The views at Silavadee Resort are truly amazing, and the pool water is exceptionally clean. As soon as we got to the pool, staff immediately brought us iced lemonade, which was a lovely touch. The hotel breakfast was fantastic, offering both Western buffet and a la carte options, and everything tasted delicious. I especially loved the a la carte lobster rolls and fried rice; the lobster rolls had large chunks of lobster meat, and I easily had at least two every day, haha. All drinks were made to order, including various coffees, teas, and other beverages. Of course, there were also fresh juices at the buffet. The only minor drawback is that it's a bit far from the main road, but everything else was perfect. Our child had a great time and said they want to stay at Silavadee again next time we visit Koh Samui.

The hotel's ambiance is elegant and comfortable, with overall design meticulously focused on details, making it very exquisite. The service is attentive, professional, and thoughtful. The restaurant's cuisine also left us with wonderful memories, and the hotel's spa was a particularly great experience. Sila Evason Hideaway is the ideal choice for a perfect beach vacation! 👍

We stayed in three different room types. The pool in the two-bedroom sea view villa was too cold, as it never got any sunlight. However, the pool in the 'Beautiful Seaview' room was really comfortable. The environment is lovely, and the hotel isn't too big. The beach is decent, better than I expected, and the kids had a great time. The staff at the gazebo even gave them sand toys. The à la carte breakfast was good. You can call a buggy for transportation, and there's a free shuttle service to Chaweng and Lamai every day.
