Bhundhari Residence Koh Samui

An older hotel split into two buildings across a road; we were in the block away from the beach. Rooms were basic with no WiFi or hair dryer, and soundproofing wasn’t great. Staff were hard to find, and the location isn’t convenient. On the plus side, there’s ample parking and a nice pool by the beach for photos.

Looks much better in pictures. The pool was quite decent though with good views. The most annoying experience was at the restaurant though, sat there the entire morning with no staff on duty (they were basically closed all morning) and there were advertisements for breakfast being served “now”. I couldn’t even go get breakfast from anywhere close by because the location is in the middle of no where (no supermarket or restaurants within walking distance). Had to end up ordering food online. So much for a sunny breakfast outdoors while on holiday mode🙂

The hotel is a bit dated, but it makes up for it with beautiful views and a very peaceful atmosphere. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive throughout our stay, which made a big difference. The room was huge and comfortable. Unfortunately, the bathtub wasn’t working during our stay, but the staff were quick to respond and helpful. The place is quiet and perfect if you’re looking to relax. The pool was amazing, with a stunning view, and the breakfast was excellent. The beach view was nice as well, though not the main highlight compared to the pool and overall scenery. Overall, a relaxing stay with great service, beautiful views, and a calm vibe, despite the hotel showing its age.

Let's start with the positives. The linens were clean, the lady that ran the bar was nice, it had 2 nice ish pools but little concerned about the cleanliness of them. Cleanliness- our bathtub was filthy and stained, there is a rubbish dumping ground under the bar the bar that is visible through the decking. The decking was unstable and felt as though it would break when walking over it. Staff- unhelpful, and air of could not be bothered which is a surprise as not had that any where else in Thailand. Location- way out the way from anywhere, were were there only one night and if we had a longer stay would have cancelled and gone somewhere else, not even a 711 or restaurant or anything nearby unless you have a.mode of transport. The overall place is very dated, and it's a shame, as a property you could see how much potential there is.

While our recent family vacation was brightened by the absolutely excellent seaview from our room, the rest of the stay was unfortunately quite disappointing. The hotel facilities and the room itself felt very old and aged, showing a clear lack of proper maintenance and subpar cleanliness throughout the property. As a family traveling with children, we were particularly concerned by the lack of smoke-free enforcement, as we frequently encountered other guests smoking in nearby areas, which created an environment that was not kid-friendly. Furthermore, the hotel’s layout is quite challenging; being situated on a hill, it requires constant climbing up and down to access different areas. This made getting around physically exhausting and far from the relaxing experience we had hoped for. Despite the stunning view, the property is in desperate need of a renovation and better upkeep before it can be truly recommended for families.

Super spacious villa style room, with a gorgeous sea view. Very serene and tranquil, and facilities were decent too. Location was slightly more secluded, but good that it is near to the airport!

Terrible internet connection in the room, dusty everywhere in the room refrigerator not working even didn't clean.
