Banyan Tree Samui

This is my fourth time in Koh Samui, and I haven't left a review before. I've stayed at Conrad, Anantara Chaweng, W, Kimpton, and Six Senses. But this time, I absolutely *have* to write a positive review for Banyan Tree! It's not just about the amazing facilities or delicious food; it's the hotel's ubiquitous **attentiveness** 💯. I won't go into every little detail, but simply put, every staff member, every day, pays close attention to guests' feelings and needs, doing their best to provide service. We booked a family pool villa this time. The room was spacious, and the layout was very well-designed. You could jump into the pool from the main bedroom, living room, or even the kids' room! After swimming, you could walk straight into the bathroom from the side to shower – the kids absolutely loved it. The hotel's private beach also has incredibly clear water. Thanks to the bay's unique location, you can paddle out directly to the coral reefs for snorkeling. So many wonderful memories I want to write about, but I'll leave it to all you families to experience it for yourselves!

Our two-day stay at the Banyan Tree's two-bedroom villa was incredibly comfortable and relaxing, perfect for families or friends vacationing together. The villa was spacious with a well-designed layout, and both bedrooms offered great privacy. The common courtyard and private pool were ideal for relaxing and socializing. The hotel directly faces the bay, boasting a fantastic tropical garden ambiance that is both serene and peaceful. The accompanying services were thoughtful and attentive; we could even have afternoon tea delivered to our villa, allowing us to enjoy sea views and delicious food without leaving. Dinner also featured wonderful performances, making for a perfect holiday.

We stayed at the Banyan Tree Koh Samui for our honeymoon! It was expensive, but worth every penny. We could have easily spent the whole day just enjoying the resort! The only minor downsides were the location and the buggy service being a little inconvenient. The staff, however, were incredibly friendly.

The villa's location was great, the beach was fantastic, and the private pool was lovely! The rooms were just average, and the decor felt a bit outdated. The bedrooms, in particular, were quite ordinary. I personally didn't care for the high ceilings. The shower, however, was excellent! The rainforest showerhead was a real treat! The butler service was practically nonexistent. They said they'd add me on WhatsApp but then disappeared. They also seemed to follow a strict process and didn't explain many things clearly. I usually ended up calling '0' to sort things out myself, as I never knew where the butler was. The breakfast restaurant was a disaster; I ordered coffee twice, and it never arrived. The division of labor seemed chaotic, with multiple people asking for my room number. Check-in was also disorganized, with different staff members handling things at various times. The service felt haphazard. Lots of staff, but ineffective! The staff's English was noticeably poor, and their accents were very strong. They also seemed robotic and lacked a personal touch. When I emailed previously, I had to get Ctrip to chase them for a reply. Compared to the service at Anantara where I stayed a few days prior, it was a huge step down. Also, constantly having to take a buggy to get around was quite inconvenient. And the main pool being under maintenance during my stay was also quite disappointing. However, I must specifically commend the beach staff here. The new boss (name) was absolutely wonderful! This was the best staff member at the entire hotel!! He taught me how to sail!! He helped me move kayaks and SUPs! His English was much better than the other staff, and his attitude was extremely friendly!! He added so much value to this hotel!!

The higher the room category, the better the view, so I recommend booking a higher room type if your budget allows. The service is quite good, but you'll need to be proficient in English. The breakfast at Banyan Tree is just average, with limited variety and mediocre taste. Other than that, everything else is flawless; the SPA and other services are excellent. You can book Saffron in advance.

This was an amazing adventure. The hotel is beautiful, the grounds are huge and very well-maintained. Our villa was spacious, cozy, and private, with a large, warm swimming pool. The hotel has its own private beach, so there's no desire to leave the premises. Breakfasts were varied and delicious. Thanks to Apple and TA for our wonderful stay at this hotel. We will definitely be back!

My expectations for this Banyan Tree Samui were quite high, so I was a little disappointed. The check-in process wasn't smooth, and there was no initial orientation to the hotel, so I had to ask where my room, restaurants, pool, and beach were located. Because the property is so vast, all movement requires calling a buggy, which takes time. The TV in my room was also broken and needed a technician to replace it. Considering the cost-performance, my impression is that the Banyan Tree Lang Co and Banyan Tree Bintan I've visited before were superior in every aspect. Given the brand's reputation, I hope they make improvements.

How should I put it? It's really hard to rate this place! Pros: The views are absolutely stunning – cliffs, the ocean, a private beach, free water activities, shuttle service, and an exclusive pool. Every staff member we encountered greeted us with a smile. Cons: On the first night, my husband was bitten by some kind of insect. After looking it up, it was most likely bed bugs or fleas. He was covered in red bumps that itched for days and still hadn't healed by the time we were almost back home. Also, our so-called dedicated butler completely disappeared. We had a WeChat group, but she never responded, so we had to figure everything out ourselves.
