Built on a litetal key ecological passageway, it prevented the wildabeast migration, a literal wonder of the world for the first time in our lifetime. Staff were literally instructed to chase the animals away.

You are killing our wildlife. Allow our animals to use their path !!!!!!!!!!! Your staff are literally stopping the animals from using their migration routes! It's not your land...

As a business that is profit driven in the guise of responsible tourism and conservation that has no regard for an ancient and most significant migration path to build a hotel in the middle and disrupt this natural wonder. You and all who support this should hang your heads in shame. Your children and grandchildren should be adhamed at what youve done in the name of profits

I did not stay at the JW Marriott Masai Mara, but I was staying at a lodge close by and felt compelled to share my concerns based on what I personally saw and what was widely discussed among guides, rangers, and other visitors in the area. The location of this hotel is extremely troubling. Many people familiar with the Mara ecosystem pointed out that the property appears to sit along or near areas traditionally used by the wildebeest migration, routes that have existed for generations. Whether or not the developers dispute this, the impact on natural movement patterns is visibly noticeable, and the very idea of placing such a large, permanent structure along or adjacent to these ancient pathways is deeply unsettling. What raised even more concern were the reports and circulating videos suggesting that staff were seen directing or encouraging animals toward an altered or blocked-off route. While I cannot verify every detail, the fact that this kind of behaviour is even being alleged in a protected ecosystem is unacceptable. Any interference with wildlife and especially during migration goes against every principle of ethical tourism and responsible conservation. From what I observed nearby, and from conversations with people who work daily in the reserve, the presence of the lodge feels out of harmony with the surrounding environment. Rather than blending into the landscape, it gives the impression of a large, intrusive development in one of the most sensitive wildlife corridors on Earth. I cannot speak to the luxury, service, or comfort of the hotel itself. But I can say that, as someone who visits the Masai Mara often expecting respect for nature to be paramount, the ecological and ethical concerns surrounding this property are serious enough for me to give it 1 star. There are many lodges in the Mara that offer high standards while respecting the environment. I would recommend choosing one of those instead until the conservation and wildlife-impact issues surrounding this development are addressed transparently and responsibly.

How to even begin to describe our experience at JW Marriott Masai Mara is beyond me. We came for the incredible experience of seeing animals on the safari drives and they were nothing short of breathtaking and indescribable! We saw lions multiple times, the highlight being 6 baby cubs (4 months) and their 2 mamas playing, nursing, and laying in the grass. We managed to see the Big 5 including 6 separate leopards, and 2 together in trees on 2 different occasions. On another occasion we were on a road with tons of high bushes and became surrounded by a herd of elephants on either side. I could go on and on about what we saw and those memories will stay with me forever. What I didn’t expect though is that my favorite part of the trip would be the people, to the point where my mom, 9 year old daughter, and I cried to leave them. It was really true that we felt and became like family. Our guides Jackson and Elizabeth were phenomenal and shared so much of their knowledge and passion for the animals. They went above and beyond to make our drives great! Elizabeth and my daughter became so close and she was so sweet with her. The fun we had together was truly special. Our guides were not the only people who we loved and made our stay incredible! The Canon photography expert Ian came with us on a couple drives and taught us how to take great photos! He was especially sweet with my daughter who really wanted to take photos and helped to teach her. He was so patient and sweet reviewing the hundreds if not thousands of photos we took to help us pick the best ones! The moment we arrived at the hotel, Diana and Doris made us cry happy tears with their warm words and thoughtfulness. They became fast friends of ours, but again, especially with my daughter, bringing her books to read and activities to do. They also shared heart felt sentiments throughout our stay and Doris hands down gives the best hugs on earth! Dennis and Josiah were also so sweet and a pleasure and made sure our coffees or cocktails were always prepared! Dennis knew my daughter loved hot chocolate in the morning and Josiah made her a special mocktail that she loved to drink throughout the week. Our room attendant Francis wrote us the sweetest welcome note, as well as inspiring turn down notes EVERY SINGLE NIGHT! We felt so loved and cared for. Our server Stillian and all the kitchen staff were so accommodating to modify dishes or create things for my 9 year old on days her palate was less adventurous. We had Kenyan dinner twice and it was so good! We especially loved the one that was hosted in the garden, as well as the other special meals in the bush. When we arrived at odd times from game drives, Eric would also help take our orders and he was also great! Our tent was farther, so it was often too dark or hot to walk and staff would drive us to and from our room in a golf cart. We received many rides from Dan who was so sweet and pointed out a bush baby in the trees on o

No respect for biodiversity! The JW staff intentionally prevented the wildebeest from migrating to the hotel side and it was horrible to watch the poor animals struggle not to cross over. The hotel shouldn't have been built there!

If we could give this 6 stars, we would. Great accommodations and the guide, Solomon was excellent. The chef mad outstanding food and modified recipes to comply with a restricted diet. Kasian was an excellent butler and Angie did a great job with the room and laundry.
