The hotel is convenient. Good selection of food for all mealtimes and also snacks throughout the day. Hotel was great when Nicoletta was working there as the atmosphere was great. Change of staff and it’s super noticeable. Run by husband and wife. He is grumpy. Pool is nice and the rooms are basic but it’s cheap and cheerful to stay there.

Please ignore previous horrible reviews this place is a lovely friendly little hotel. We were made to feel very welcome and the older lady works incredibly hard all day 7 days a week to ensure your stay is really good. Admittedly the breakfast isn't greatly varied but for the budget it's fine. The rooms are spotlessly clean with comfy beds and a great shower. The food in the restaurant is excellent and Tony who works evenings takes great care of you. The pool is good and the sunbeds are......sunbeds surprisingly. The only small complaint I would have is the description says "self catering " which is incorrect. There are no facilities to cater for yourself apart from a kettle and a fridge. This was not a problem to us as we visited some terrific restaurants locally as well as eating at the esmerelda. This is a 3 star establishment and should be judged as such

The good times of this hotel are over, if they ever were. The old owner couple is scaring visitors away from the joy of vacation. They don't speak any foreign languages, they're just rude, rude, impolite - and hopelessly overwhelmed. Day in and day out they are dressed like black crows and very unkempt. The old man in particular yells at the staff and guests. The breakfast is a complete disaster. You are simply ignored. The bread is old and the toast is rock hard. You are not allowed to take food into your room. Why? Air conditioning is expensive and the temperature cannot be adjusted. WiFi is very, very slow and can only be used in the lobby. Working via the Internet is out of the question. This vacation was a flop. Never check in with these old guys again. They are harming Greek tourism.

This used to be a very nice family hotel, not any more. I was supposed to stay there for a week but I cut my visit short. Owner couple has totally lost the plot, shouting at customers etc. They sit in the restaurant and stare at customers all day long. You are not allowed to use the poolbar if you have used the pool. You are not allowed to walk there (by the pool) if you are wet. You CAN use the sun beds which are extremely low and not suitable for people with knee/ back problems. They don´t speak any english, which is not a problem for me but was to others. Understanding greek didn´t make the experience any better. I said to the lady I can´t sit on the sunbeds, and was just told to leave. The restaurant works very slow, waited for my pasta dish for over an hour. My companion waited 1,5 h for a cheese and onion toastie. At this point the restaurant had only 8 customers. Their website says they are an apartment hotel and you can bring food in your room but not in to the pool bar. They have removed the cookers from the rooms and there´s a notice on the table saying " We kindly request you don´t bring your own food in the rooms." So there´s only a small fridge, kettle and two coffee cups. Air conditioning costs 7 € which is normal, but what isn´t is the ready set temperature which you can´t change. You also get told off if you change the fan settings. Otherwise the place itself is nice, big rooms, renewed bathrooms (they still have the weird bathtubs that are very difficult to climb in to have a shower).

1* Me and my friends travelled to Esmeralda hotel on August 8th - 15th and it was a nice enough hotel until the fourth night, my friend went to get into the shower and when she turned the tap on water dropped from the ceiling, not just a wee bit, ALOT. We knew it was from the room above us however when we went down and said to Georgia we were told that no one was staying in the room above us so it was our fault, she told the 2 owners (who don’t speak a pick of English) and they automatically started screaming in Greek before they had even left there chairs. The male owner came into the room and was already shouting before he had seen what happened, he then proceeded to rip the shower off the wall and throw it in the bath he then pulled the key card out of the holder and threw it across the room in his temper. This man should not be running a hotel if this is how he treats his paying customers. After throwing the key card he then is shouting in Greek and demanding us to give the key to him (after he was the one who threw it?) we then went downstairs again where the man proceeded to shout at his wife and at Georgia. My friend tried to explain what was happening and Georgia then twisted her words and got rude with us (however this was quickly solved) We were then given the number of another receptionist who we had to call and she told us they ordered a new hose for the shower, and that the man wasn’t shouting or swearing it’s just how the Greek talk?? These people should not be running a hotel they don’t have a clue what they are doing and have no customer service skills and they clearly don’t know how to treat staff. Luckily we have video and photographic proof of this all (incase they try to deny it)

We stayed for 10 days here and although we enjoyed our stay it doesn't come without its problems,. firstly the owners do not speak English so getting a conversation is hard, 2nd you cannot bring your own snacks or juice to poolside (crisps & cola/orange juice) we were told to put them away which was strange I thought not as if it was pizza or carryout meal Now the good bits, the rooms are big and cleaners in everyday,.comfy big bed, pool is excellent, bar/restaurant is good and meals all home cooked, Georgia who comes in after 4pm is a wee gem with her own personality, kremasti itself is quite small and the carnival livened it up a lot,.not too many bars around but enough
