Astana Wing - Riverside Majestic Hotel

Overall experience not bad, I would give it 7/10. Strategic location and beautiful scenery of the riverside. The basement carpark was dark and narrow to me. I have feedback it to stuff and they switched on more lighting the next day. However, I would recommend them to keep the basement cleaner. The buffet breakfast is good and many choices. The food also tastes good. The facility is a bit dated. You will need to walk to the Puteri Wing in order to access to its swimming pool.

We had stayed at Kuching for 5 days prior to this and the change of hotel and lovely swimming pool, great staff and tasty breakfast was awesome.

Average experience - Day 1 - Checked into the first room - saw a roach and a ear bud on the phone, bedsheet and towels are damp. Checked into second room as replacement - stains on bedsheet and also towels are damp. Duty manager was supposed to contact but did not that night. Day 2 - Arrived into into room - saw the towels not changed, just refolded. Clogged sink not cleared. Litter not cleaned up. Duty manager was out so was informed to speak to the main manager on day 3 / Desmond Day 3 Front desk Manager did not turn up. So spoke to the duty manager who did his best to make our trip memorable. More to another cleaner room. Side note - seems news went around and the housekeeping commented that wages were not sufficient and it’s tough work on housekeeping. Save that comments for your management or downgrade to a 2 star hotel not for your customers. Was backpacking during my younger days, and even those were cleaner and well maintained. Overall - the only positives such as location, service quality of staff who can be either very friendly or nonchalant l, I think given the price paid, there are better options out there (Hilton / Sheraton) especially if bringing kids l. Rooms dated, smells mouldy along the corridors, in need for infrastructure

Overall stay was nice!! We had beautiful view from the room overlooking to the sarawak river.

river view room. location is amazing. walking distance to kuching waterfront. room is modest and quite simple - unsophisticated, merely boring decorations & furniture. to utter the venue is a five-star hotel is an exaggeration. disappointed with air-conditioning, unable to cool room to desirable level. amenities provided are not adequate for a family room.

This hotel is the best hotel I stay in Kuching so far! The staff is really friendly and nice. Always have smile at their face even we check in the hotel at 11pm. What I like the most about this hotel is the breakfast buffet! Where to find hotel that serve laksa sarawak and mee kolok as the buffet? Here they serve all of it!!! And the view is also eye-catching since we got the sea view room :) but the downsides are the toilet only have bidet and it quite slow and the pool is at the puteri wing so you have to walk a little. Other than that, everything is amazing and affordable at this hotel!❤️❤️❤️

It was a pleasant stay at the hitel.location is quite good but there was a cockroach inside toilet.
