Kunming Haiyuan Boutique Homestay (Nanping Pedestrian Street)

It's rare to find such an affordable and lovely guesthouse in the city center. The environment is really nice, and it even has a small courtyard. We were three adults, and we booked a duplex room that came with a free extra bed. It's super convenient as the guesthouse is just a few minutes' walk from the old street for shopping. I forgot to take pictures of the guesthouse, so the image attached is of Cuihu Park instead.

I was exhausted from walking to the airport, and then got ripped off by a taxi driver, which put me in a terrible mood. But this hotel was a pleasant surprise! The entrance is small, but once you step inside, it has everything you need. The absolute best part was the several chubby cats – they came right into my room to play as soon as I opened the door. So adorable! Next time I'm in Kunming, I'm definitely staying here again.

This is a truly unique building, a hidden gem offering tranquility amidst the bustling city! It used to be the Flying Tigers' office building, and after renovation, the rooms have become incredibly distinctive. In the center, there's a shared garden with a tea room and a lounge area, perfect for relaxing after checking in and perhaps playing with the resident cats! The hotel is conveniently located on Baoshan Street, making it super easy to get around. You can walk to restaurants, ear-picking salons, shopping areas, and the old town. Finally, I have to commend the hotel service! Since it's an old building without an elevator, both male and female staff members are always ready to help you with your luggage. Plus, they deliver breakfast to your room daily at your chosen time! We had ours at 9 AM one day and 11 AM the next, and it was delivered punctually each time. The breakfast is from Cui Man Long, a chain restaurant right next door, so there are many options, and the portions are very generous and delicious! The two cups of red date milk every evening were also lovely. Overall, this hotel is highly recommended for family trips.

This courtyard hotel is a traditional siheyuan tucked away in a bustling area. The rooms are lovely, and right outside our door is a beautiful garden. We had three adorable cats visit us, which made my daughter absolutely thrilled! The owner was incredibly thoughtful, and the breakfast was super delicious. They even brought us two glasses of milk in the evening. Plus, there are so many fantastic food options just downstairs. It's really convenient!
