Kunming Day Youth Hotel (Nanping Street Dongfeng Square)

I rarely leave reviews because my expectations for accommodation aren't very high. This review is specifically for this room type. The biggest 'feature' of this room isn't that it's windowless, but the soundproofing! There's a glass panel at the top of the bathroom, which connects to the adjacent bathroom, and if you look closely, it's not sealed at the top!! If you leave your bathroom door open (because there's no window, only the bathroom fan for ventilation), you might hear the person next door farting, and with an echo too!! Oh, and on the other side, it's like an office – during the day, you can hear people talking and kids making noise perfectly clear. I've stayed in windowless hotels in Xinjiang before and never encountered any strange smells. Unfortunately, this room has an odor… if the previous guest was a smoker, the smell simply doesn't dissipate. After visiting so many cities in Yunnan, Kunming offered the worst experience, compounded by the chaotic traffic. It's hard to even comment…
